“The honey butter (100% honey that is whipped into a great texture) is so good. I’ve been looking for this for a long time, and this is the real deal. I’ll be ordering online regularly.”

“I haven’t had the pleasure to visit this shop in person but had a wonderful online experience. The owner was remarkably timely with responses and shipping was surprisingly fast, even over a holiday weekend. It was clear the packager took their time to hand wrap items and even included a handwritten note. It’s the little things that show they care. This is the kind of business that you feel good about supporting, I can’t recommend them more. Shop small, gain big !”

“I give the store 5 stars for the excellent service I received. Three of the employees in the store went out of their way to help me, including the owner. I have been going to the store for over 15 years, and have always loved the place. Lots of wonderful things to see! And thing's you cannot find elsewhere.”

“What a lovely shop! As we entered, Rick, the kind shopkeeper, said "Are you okay with dogs?" And we said "Sure! Are you okay with kids?" He was, and he let the three kids pet Digger, his dog, while my sister and I looked around at all the paintings, prints, jewelry, and sculptures by different artists. We bought three beautiful glass buoys to hang in our windows. Thank you for such a friendly, welcoming experience! You run a beautiful, sunny little gallery and we'll be back again someday.”

“We have visited Sweet Bay several times and bought gifts both for others and ourselves. The handwork and designs are extraordinary, and the staff has always been especially helpful.
This is our second annual jaunt to Boothbay Harbor, and Sweet Bay is definitely on our list of reasons that we will be return next year!”

“I ordered a barrel mug for my husband for Christmas, online. It was defective and leaked from the handle as soon as he put liquid in it. I called and was met with skepticism because “that never happens.” I was offered to mail it back and they’d mail me a replacement but because Sheepscot Is around a half hour away, I decided to make the return in person, which would give me the opportunity to shop the store. The Damariscotta location had a mug I could swap with and they held it for me. My husband, college aged daughter and I drove to the location to pick up the mug. We noted the sign on the door indicating masks were not required so we entered without a mask. We were immediately confronted by the employee, asking us to wear a mask. We all put on masks and I suggested they change the sign if they require masks or want customers to wear masks in the store. I was not offered a refund for my original shipping cost and my thanks for driving an hour or more round trip to correct their mistake was being accosted as I entered the door. I found this very off putting. The mug is lovely. They have beautiful pottery. I will not go back until masks are a thing if the past.”

“We used to stop when I was a child for three days on our way back from Nova Scotia. We loved browsing the Smiling Cow to find trinkets to buy, this was in the 60’s. My husband and I went a few years ago and I got a sweatshirt that I still wear! The shop is wonderful!!”

“Great Shop with lots of the Old Maine Flag from 1901 on many items near the front of the store. The largest variety of LazyOne Pajama’s I’ve ever seen in any shop across the world. The new knife display really brightens up the front. Nice selection of Men’s and Women’s sale items. Staff was very knowledgeable about store history as well as community history. They were all friendly and funny, if not a little quirky which just adds to the charm in my opinion.”
