“In many ways, this PO is very old school — and I like that. Next time you visit, check out the framed documents above the retail counter; official Presidential Commissions issued to certify Rockland's (then-) postmaster. Some of them date back well over 100 years and they all speak of a time when local postmasters were appointed by (of all people) the president. It's a rare nod to the past for a public building these days.”

And tho' I appreciate the building's 'Beaux-Arts' exterior, my favorite bit is the entrance and lobby (public area) with their old school surfaces of quarter-sawn white oak and age-burnished brass hardware.”
