He is consistently friendly, polite, and welcoming, no matter how busy it gets. It is rare to find someone who treats every customer with genuine kindness and respect, but he does it effortlessly every time.
Whether I’m just grabbing gas or getting my car washed, I always leave with a better mood thanks to his great attitude. It is a small things like this that make a big difference. Great service like this deserves to be recognized!”
“Truly, this place is amazing! I called two other places first and never got a response and I wish I'd just called Maine Recon first. I was scheduled in quickly to get a bunch of tree sap removed and the results surpassed my expectation. It's clear that for Josh and his team, detailing is not just a job but a CRAFT. They treated my Hyundai with the same care they would give a fancy car and the results were amazing. I don't think my car looked this pristine when it came off the manufacturing assembly line! Josh was fantastic at explaining every step of the process in plain language and making sure the job was done quickly, efficiently, and up to his impeccable standards. Their waiting area was also super cozy with a sofa, mini fireplace, wifi, and stocked fridge. Can't say enough great things about Maine Recon! I had my car detailed today 4/24/26 and am unfortunately not thrilled by the result. They did a great job on the exterior! The interior however was not great. I got the $50 dog hair removal up-charge which was to be expected! No complaints there, but there were details that were completely missed such as door sills not being wiped at all, the drivers side carpet and seat controls still being dirty, pedals not cleaned etc. I tipped before looking at the car which was my mistake but I’m bummed about paying $390 and still feeling like I have detailing to do myself.
I try to keep my car clean and do admit there is dog hair so I understand that probably took some time, but the rest was not worth the money as I regularly wipe down my dash and console, and vacuum as well with my car wash membership so I was hoping for that new car feeling rather than a regular cleaning. EDIT: I received a prompt call back and will be taking it in tomorrow morning for them to fix! Very positive response that I really appreciate.”
“Wow! It's like my car is brand new again! I couldn't be more pleased with the work Portland Detailing did on this car. Not a single thing was missed. $400 for the complete interior + leather shampoo package. Well worth it for the fine work they do.”

“Ed’s was recommended to me by my mechanic for rust repair. They replaced my rocker panels on both sides and did a perfect job for an incredibly fair price and in a day and a half! Ed and his son are not only knowledgeable but are extremely nice people as well so I was happy for the opportunity to support their business. They even washed my car, polished my headlights and shined my tires for free! I love these guys and would absolutely use them in the future.”

“Best car wash I’ve ever been to. The owner was very attentive, making conversation with his customers, walking around and keeping up with/maintaining his business. He saw me vacuuming my car for over an hour (I love the beach, so it needed to be vacuumed badly due to sand and kids lol) and helped me get my car extra clean once I got to the car wash part. Wonderful, just wonderful. I’d give 10 stars if I could.
Also the vacuums work great, overall very impressed and I will be back!”
“I came in for a soft touch clean and saw there was a massive, unmoving line. This one guy was running around talking to all the different cars and when he got to me he informed me that the car wash machine could only process 4 washes in line at a time otherwise he had to reset the whole system! In a beautiful effort to keep things moving, everyone stayed put to make sure only three payments were processed at a time and Josh was like a frenzied angel making sure everyone was taken care of and informed of what was happening. He even offered for me to pull into the bay for an extra rinse off at the end! Despite it taking 40 minutes to get my car washed (and it's winter so my goodness I was happy to wait), I felt a great comraderie among the other drivers and well taken care of by Josh.”

“This gas station has the best automatic car wash in the greater Portland area. I used to go to Scrub-a-Dub but my car always had more scratches on it after being washed there. Ever since I started washing it here, there have been no additional scratches on it. It also seems to do a better job than the one at Irving (Cash Corner) or the one on Broadway across from the bowling alley, which is super fancy but always leaves parts of the car dirty and applies way too much wax. The simple, unassuming car wash at Big Apple cleans thoroughly, doesn't scratch, and doesn't over-apply wax. What more could you want?”
