“My mom and dad chose Maine Veterans Home in Caribou while making their end of life preparations (where they would stay when the time came). The time did come for my mom, earlier than dad. Mom was very please with her accomdations, care and nutrional meals. Her transition from our home to Maine Veterans Home was seamless, respectful and welcoming. The staff was exceptionally caring, very diligent with all mom's needs...mom felt comfortable with her new surroundings. The time came when mom was on her last days, and Maine Veterans Home couldn't have been any better or more respectful. Lately, my dad has transitioned to living at Maine Veterans Home, many of the staff recognized dad, since they served mom during her stay. I can honestly say, Maine Veterans Home in Caribou has a phenomenal staff, from the Frontline nurses, custodial staff, the whole kitchen crew, the medical staff and the administrative staff, All work together to bring the best comfort and care for not just my dad, but all the residence. The visitors are treated as honored guests and keep family informed of their loved ones status. The kindness from the staff that I observe everytime I visit is authentic and genuine. It takes special people for this kind of vocation, and Maine Veterans Home exemplifies compassionate care. Mom and Dad chose well. I am Forever grateful.
