Riverside Butcher Co. is an amazing, real butcher shop located in Damariscotta, providing Mid-Coast Maine with quality hand cut beef, lamb, pork, and poultry. The meat is sourced from local farms whenever possible, with clean, fresh tastes far better than grocery store protein. It is way more than a butcher shop, also offering a huge variety of wines, pastas, sauces, and other specialty products for an upscale evening menu. The professional butchers behind the counter have complete knowledge, are very helpful, and can provide any sort of unusual cut. Their smoked meat is delicious, and the exquisite wine selection is well priced for the quality. It is well worth the stop.
Stopped by on my way through town and bought some scallops and sausage sticks. The scallops were so delicious we drove back the next day to buy more. The sausage sticks I bought to bring back to my kids in Florida, well they didn’t make it. They were so tasty and a great snack while driving back to Florida.

Stopped in for the smoked chicken and ended up also getting the roast beef and turkey barley soup. Everything was phenomenal, but the soup was one of the best I've ever had. The service is super friendly, too!
