“Stopped in while visiting from Mass...very nice and friendly place. Great fresh lunch cooked to order. We tried steak and cheese subs, fish burger and Italian sub...all were delicious.”

“Yeah, Alton grocery, I just really like near my neighborhood. It's a good place to go when you need something. A lot of the places around here. Close at 7 o'clock. So for me to get to the Alton 1 before 7 wouldn't make sense to me. When I can go to the LaGrange general store? And because they closed at seven o'clock, if it's literally one minute, after seven o'clock, I would have to go to Milo for any type of munchies or gasoline or services?Because here in lagrange and alton, it's just all closed. But other than that I love the Alta grocery great people, great service, friendly attitude. I like their food that they make their hot foods. Pretty good eggs are really inexpensive and just all their refreshments are nice and cold, great atmosphere, debit credit, everything's accepted great place.”

“We were into this store a few weeks ago to cash in some winning scratch tickets for new ones. When we got out to our car the guy running the register came running out to let us know that we forgot one. We appreciated his honesty. Today we stopped in and tried to add a car wash while at the pump but it was not working. My husband went in to ask why and they said the car wash was down. As we were getting ready to drive off the cashier ran out and handed us a free car wash coupon and said that he didn't want the broken wash to hinder us from coming back again. The staff here has been very honest and friendly. It is nice to find a business that cares so much about customer service and we will definitely be back!”

“Great sandwiches and pretty decent prices. The kitchen staff works hard. Just beware of new employees. They may screw up your sandwiches if you don't watch them closed and correct them. I guess everyone has to start somewhere to learn. They try to do there best with a positive attitude.”
“Freshies hosted an event to serve the community in order to showcase the incredible remodel that took place at the outer Hammond street location. Freshies pulled out all the stops with free wood fired pizza, burgers and hotdogs with many other treats for folks to try like their yummy cookies and baked goods as well as cold drinks. Some vendors showed up too with products you can find on the shelves. There was a race team, video games and if you needed a car wash the bay was open for business. What a great way for a local business to create loyalty and impart value of its customers. The new remodel is beautiful and the interior is inviting with bold freshies colors and contrasting accents the design is wonderful. A gas station takes on the appearance and atmosphere of a restaurant. My littles and I were served a meal and got to see a gem of bangor rise.”

“I have a difficult time believing that anyone has had a negative experience at the South Main Street location. Perhaps they got it confused with the Bangor store that is known to be messy and have less than friendly customer service. The manager at Big Apple South Main Street takes great pride in the cleanliness of his store and always values the importance of customer service above all else. I am in there at least 4 times a week around 6am. Coffee, creamers, etc are always full, store is always clean and staff is always welcoming. I truly believe the woman who left the negative review last week has this location confused with another. Thank you”

“A newer addition to Brewer, this nice and roomy Big Apple gives you everything you would expect from a basic convenience store/gas station. Whoever designed the floor plan should be complemented because of the customer friendly layout. The beverages are easily found along the wall, the booze has it's own little area and the center of the store has the snacky stuff. The staff are courteous, efficient and happy. Well done!”
“It's hard to give the people in the store any stars at all. We were treated so rudely that it was absolutely unbelievable. That woman was horrid. And letting her child run around and be rude to customers also. She has no business being in the customer service line of work. BUT... all the stars go to those two guys in the bottle return room. They were friendly and very funny. My husband and I took our cans and bottles there after our vacation and let me tell you, those two made up for all the rude looks and attitude that everyone got in the store. Good job guys. Don't let they "insiders" change you.”

“Even though the Ledbetter's has sold all their stores to RHFoster, and they will become Freshies in the near future, they are still convenient places to go for snacks, lotto, and gas. It may not be what it used to be, but any transitional period comes with it's annoyances.”
