“You have many choices of Ace Hardware Stores in a small geographic area in this location. In Portsmouth there is Ricci Lumber Ace Hardware for all your lumber needs, in Lottery there is Eldridge Ace Hardware, more of a lawn and garden leaning hardware store and off the beaten path, but also in Portsmouth is Seacoast Ace Hardware. You may have driven by the sign for years and never known where the store was. The sign is on Lafayette Rd, but the location is off Heritage Ave at the end of a long row of businesses, most of which aren't exactly retail shops. I happened to be passing on a bike ride and needed a couple of items. I was greeted and accompanied for my whole trip by a nice guy who helped me find everything I needed even with my poor descriptions. I've had lesser experiences at this location in the past, but this time made up for past transgressions. Find it if you can.”
“Great local hardware store owned by a local family. Their prices are decent, they have a good variety of products for just about anything you may need inside or outside your home or business. The building materials are readily available for any home improvement projects you may have and the employees are always friendly and helpful.”
“Cheap and not so cheap tools. I don't mind getting cheap tools here, but I wouldn't buy expensive tools here from the same brands that make the cheap tools. They always get you with the Insider's Club pricing too. I don't like those psy-ops deals”

“Made a delivery here today call up for directions the lady that answered was so sweet told me how to get to their yard step by step once I got there was told to park and wait for the fork lift operator all said and done i was in and out less than an hour. I just wish Avery place I deliver was like this.. lovely people....”

“Just discovered this place. Never ending assortment of all fasteners, stainless large fasteners, stainless uni strut, good heavy duty chains and binders, good quality drills of every imaginable size and i could go on for days. Outstanding selection and just as Outstanding of team members to help out. The only bad thing is i could spend hours and thousands of dollars here in a short time because its high quality stuff you dont see around often.”
“Excellent service from this staff. I have to comment about their business - someone called while we were there asking to come down and use a tool there instead of renting it. I had to laugh. The whole purpose of rental businesses is to offer an option to rent instead of purchasing a tool or piece of equipment. They are not your neighbor or brother that will just let you borrow stuff. Their business is RENTING not loaning for free. I'm thankful for their service and professionalism.”
“This place was better than expected. I was referred by a friend so I went to check It out. The staff was very helpful in figuring out transformer size, lighting selection and light bulb types for a large landscape lighting project! They also had everything I needed in stock.”
“Yesterday, June 17, 2025, my husband and I placed an order for a bulkhead door. First, Dan from the kitchen design department helped us locate a mixer, a bathtub fixture, that would match and replace what we have. We never would have found it without him. Then it was on to ordering the bulkhead door. Dan and Renee, also from the kitchen design department, helped us through the process. It was quite tricky, as we wanted to use our veteran’s discount. There were multiple steps, but the two of them would not quit trying to get the best price for us.
It is great to know that there are people who care enough about customers to go the extra mile.
Kudos to both Dan and Renee! They are valuable assets to the Home Depot.”
“I stopped by this store yesterday. The staff is great! I had 2 different sales associates offer to help me find what I was looking for, and another associate noticed I had my arms full of merchandise and came back with a shopping cart for me. Usually, at this type of store, I'm walking up & down the aisles looking for someone to help me. Has customer service returned?? Kudos!!”
“It’s actually really cool to see Lowe’s locations offering free air, like for your cars tires. ? I always thought it was dishonest of gas stations to charge people to put air in their tires, seems like a petty attempt to just collect more and more from a consuming public that’s already taxed to death. Thank you Lowe’s for the free air: it kept me rolling many a time.”

“What I thought would be a quick shopping trip to the Portsmouth location this evening, turned into one of the most enjoyable shopping experiences I’ve had in a long time. While at the self-checkout, I ran into one of Home Depot’s finest, Gail. She assisted my girlfriend and I with our checkout process which led to a great conversation between the three of us. She even pulled my leg a couple of times so hard that it hurt. Gail’s knowledge of the products sold in store combined with her advanced sense of humor made for a great end to our trip to Home Depot. In the future, I will go out of my way to go through the checkout process with my new friend Gail. Her friendliness and exceptional customer service should not go unnoticed! Thanks again, Gail.”

“Locally owned, this is a great spot to get seasonal plants and hanging baskets. In addition to any kind of hardware you might need, they also have a few locally made treats at the register such as honey and candies. Nice folks, too.”
