“Great for both vintage finds and Maine made decor, gifts, candy etc. I love the monthly markets they do at the vault right next door. We had a great time at the Halloween market and plan to attend their Deck the Halls event in November. Staff is incredibly kind and accommodating, this is a family run business and it shows. You’ll be glad you stopped in.”

“You're driving on a little rural road, beginning to wonder whether Google Maps has suffered some sort of glitch, when you come around a bend and are relieved to see the Bates Mill workshop and store. Upon entering, you are greeted warmly by a staff member. The showroom contains slightly imperfect blankets, coverlets, bedspreads, etc. at clearance prices. You are free to spread any piece out on a table and examine it for yourself. And if, like my wife and I, you don't have room in your luggage for a bedspread, they will ship it to you at very reasonable rates. Before you buy from anywhere else, you should give Bates a look. This is a special place.”
