“Good little Italian market in town. Easy to get to and they have parking on site. Good selection of Italian staples like cherry peppers, san marzano tomatoes, Caputo flour, prosciutto, and more.”

“Not so much about the shop, but the owner, a kind and generous man who came to the rescue of myself and my daughter and gave us a lift to our hotel. Jaques, if you see this, NZ lost, Portland won.Thank you.”

“I highly recommend stopping in here if you haven't already. They've got the biggest and best selection in town, easily. A ton of local beers, meads, ciders, wines, and even non-alcoholic beers for you to choose from. They also stock plenty of out of state and imported beers. The friendly staff will always have multiple suggestions for you if you need help making a decision. You can also buy single cans of beers you just want to try without investing in an entire four pack. On top of all that, they've got a rewards program. Awesome.”

“Where do I start?? I completely enjoyed my experience at Scales from start to finish. They came recommended by two completely different people (a resident and someone who frequents the area) so after the second time hearing the name, it was settled. I had to try it. We had a short wait in the lounge area for the dining room to open and had a drink. The Lavender Haze with the pea flower infused gin was fantastic; Woke my taste buds right up! Our waitress was incredibly helpful and graciously answered all of my 784 questions to help us settle on what to order (everything sounded so amazing, I couldn’t decide). We settled on the grilled octopus for the appetizer and while in Maine, I HAD to get lobster. I have no regrets!! Everything we tried was phenomenal. After seeing other tables order the scallops, I would’ve loved to try them too but had absolutely no room left. I can say this was the best meal I’ve had in a very long time. When in Portland, Maine EAT AT SCALES!!”

“Extremely helpful and friendly staff, especially the resident staff dog Ruby. Seriously they're lovely people, never had anything but a wonderful, professional, and prompt experience there. Great prices and a great selection. Also a good little boat beer fridge with constantly changing options for those of us of the island persuasion.”

“We stopped in here while making the rounds of the breweries in the area, and I highly recommend it! One of the owners, Tim, was wonderful and gave us a tasting and tour of the facility. Their liquors were great, and they have some fun, distinctive distilled beer spirits that were really tasty in addition to their rum, gin, whiskey, and rye.”

“Just found out about these guys and I'm super bummed to be seeing it go! I hope they still make their drinks in some way for people to buy because there's nothing quite like that around. Delicious and intriguing flavors, and plenty for those who don't drink alcohol as well.”

“What's there not to like? This place is a pillar of awesomeness in Portland. The beer menu is without match. The service is incredible. It's just that good.Parking: The best place to park is in the public parking garage directly south of the location. This is a huge garage, but enter with caution as the entry point is really narrow.”

“The Espresso Martini was AWESOME. we ate late after a full day of town, we were two of few in this undiscovered country. I had the chicken sandwich to eat light and it was nice and juicy. My friend had herself a burger to eat light too and she enjoyed it. The chef came out later and chatted with us.; he was a good guy and spoke of how new this place is. Oh forgot the calamari we shared as an appetizer, cooked perfectly iff you don't like eating rubber; nice and tender a beautiful golden brown.”

“This is the best delivery service in Portland by a wide margin. They're a local company with a reputation for paying their employees well. They have one of the widest selections of restaurants, with a user friendly app and website. They'll deliver alcohol in addition to food. And, perhaps best of all, the fees and surcharges are clearly outlined before you order. Taken in whole, it's not cheap ordering delivery from local restaurants. But if you would normally order drinks and food out, this is definitely a more economical and convenient alternative.I've ordered from Carhop over a dozen times with no issues. Last night I had my first issue. When my order showed on the app as delivered, but wasn't, I contacted Carhop on their handy live chat feature and was asked to check all entrances. My front door is brightly lit and obvious (it even has a floodlight). There is also an unlit, snow and ice covered side staircase that no delivery service has ever braved. It's likely every homeowners insurance company's worst nightmare. But there was the order, on a zero degree night, frozen solid to the ice. When I jammed the side door open and grabbed the bag, it exploded, leaving a war zone of ramen. I was able to salvage half the order, while the rest has made me the honorary king of the local raccoon population. A quick note to Carhop explaining the situation (with a picture) and I was instantly fully refunded. I feel like they went above and beyond in service and would highly recommend!”
