“Trader Joe's is a fun food shopping experience. I love the flower choices, mixed nuts area, and finding unique foods they have. The prices are very comparable to regular grocery stores. Its just a fun, unique place to shop on occasion. Love it!!”
“Beloved Portland butcher shop. Great staff and a nice little market attached, with local breads, basic grocery items, wine, great prepared entrees to take home and sandwiches made to order, all in addition to the great selection of meats. A-1!
Totally recommended!”
“Boutique liquor store with most of what you’d be looking for ABV beverages. Super friendly and helpful staff. I just wish they’d bring back their once outstanding hard kombucha selection. Alas. Still I highly recommend.”
“Fantastic place for quality Italian (and more) food needs, vast selection of specialty items, wine, olive oils, and don't forget the original slab style pizza.”
“The store owners are very friendly. One of the owner run the cash register and always give each customer with a friendly greetings when cashing out. The produces are very fresh and you can't beat the price from other Asian store. If you can't found anything you can always ask the old guy walking around, LOL.”
“I love this place. Knowing pizza can be polarizing, I ask you to set aside your views on “correct” pizza. Go get one of their Big Mac pies, or a slice of pepperoni, and then look me in the face and tell me it isn’t delicious. Great food. Great people. A true local institution.”

“I have had really good sandwiches and rice and meat. It’s too bad they aren’t ready for lunch at lunchtime otherwise I’d be there all the time grabbing lunch. The food is very good. Showed up at noon and nothing was ready. Will try next week.”
“greatest customer service and great high quality meat absolutely recommend. i go there all the time to send money, get meat, and have conversations. very friendly staff 10/10 must try again”
“I was fascinated by the warm and welcoming atmosphere at the market, and ended up purchasing two boxes of Turkish coffee, a baklava sampler, as well as beef Shawarma and Egyptian-style wraps. They bake the wraps fresh daily, and they were incredibly tasty! When I went to pay for my items, the gentleman at the counter offered to give me a tutorial on making the coffee since I had never done it before. It was an incredible experience!”
“The store is very clean. The owner and employees are more understanding and they are there to help you quick cash out quick everything is up to date. I am happy to be a customer of the store.”
“Small store with a small staff. However, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Surprising selection of some niche items, but generally has just the basics. Produce, Bakery, and Deli tend to be well tended, stocked, and fresh - even late in the day.
Pharmacy is overwhelmed by number of customers for its size, but the staff is hard working, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and communicates well.”

“Well, if you’ve ever wandered into the West End and thought, “I’d like Fresh Approach, but make it boogie,” then Rosemont Bakery is your spot. This place is a real treat for folks who like their breakfast burritos wrapped in locally-sourced pride and their bread fresher than a summer breeze off Casco Bay. It’s the kind of place where you can grab a fancy loaf that costs more than your last parking ticket and feel darn good about it.
Now, don’t get me wrong—I’m not knocking Fresh Approach. That’s the spot for a no-frills bag of chips, head of cabbage, and a Mountain Dew when you’re in a pinch. But Rosemont? Oh no, this place is for the West End crowd who pretend to forget where their Subaru is parked. They’ve got all the goodies: hot breakfast burritos that’ll make you rethink your life choices (in a good way), shelves of local produce, and even the kind of cheese that comes with a story about the goat’s name. It’s like Whole Foods decided to keep it wicked Maine.
The vibe inside is cozy but elevated—you’ll see someone in Carhartts buying organic quiche right next to a guy in a Patagonia vest debating whether kombucha counts as breakfast. The staff is friendly in that Portland kind of way, where you’re not sure if they’re being sarcastic or genuinely excited about your bread selection. And oh, the bread! Soft, crusty, and so local it probably votes in the Portland City Council races.
So, if you’re in the West End and need a quick bite or some groceries that’ll impress your houseguests, Rosemont’s your jam. Just don’t forget where you parked your Subaru.”
“So far from my native lands, I've struggled with an inability to find real comida Latina in Maine. This store does not check all of my requisite boxes and I was mysteriously unable to find stuff like soft corn tortillas (at Shaws and Hannaford's you are lucky to get some flour tortillas in a plastic bag), but I did find most of everything else I needed. It's a tiny store, but chock full-- everything ranging from your basic Goya or American-Latino products to more exotic imports.”
“Adorable market and bakery on the east end. We were staying in a B&B in the neighborhood and visited this spot every day while we were there.Picked up a variety of items, a great bottle of wine some nice fruit, yogurt, water, prepackaged salad, Pastries, baked goods and more.Very friendly people, great selection. I was especially impressed with the variety of unique wines they carried. Wish I had some thing like this in my neighborhood back home!”
“Great Cambodian market with lots of Khmer products available— frozen lemongrass shoots, dried fish, tamarind paste, num ansom, etc. Helpful owners and kind staff.”
“I have visited this store for almost 3 years regularly and it's definitely a favorite. The service is amazing, family run businesses are great. I know each of them very well and talk to them as through we're fam”
“"If they don't have it, you don't need it". Great selection for the island market, right by the landing of the Ferry lines. Hannigan's is also the island's delivery folks.”
“If you want local organic foods and vegetables, just come here to shop. It's a nice store with many food options. I saw lots of nuts in the store and I like their bakery section.”
“Great place to get whatever you enjoy eating and it has seafood if your an seafood eater no matter what there's always someone walking around asking people if they need help some days are busy and some days are not but anyways great people great place to do your shopping thank you everyone that works for Hannaford”
“Really impressed with this Hannaford. As a Portland area person, of course my first thought of Hannaford is Forest Ave - but since my office moved over to Riverside, I've frequented this Hannaford quite a bit. Sure, their selection is smaller - like, a lot smaller - than Forest Ave, but what they lack in selection they make up for in customer service. The folks at the deli are fabulous, and through all this virus craziness, they've been very clearly diligent about cleaning/sanitizing/ensuring their customers feel they are doing their due diligence. I went through a checkout the other day and the cashier was great - switched gloves between customers, used sanitizer - she was friendly and gracious when I apologized I even had to be there to get anything!! They've got a hot bar, salad bar, bakery, and produce - what else do you need?! They also have a great selection of Amy's organic frozen meals, which is my go-to. Really fab location.”

“This is a small shop with Everything that anyone of African descent would need. They sell different kinds of African and Caribbean food, drinks, hair products and self care products. It is a self contained galore for the African community in Southern Maine. The owners are wonderful people and do good business. I always enjoy coming here to buy braiding hair (mesh).”
“Bigger foot print of a store. Quality of Whole Foods and bigger isles. Been in some tight WF stores! It is well staffed with young eager and knowledgeable employees. Seating for a quick lunch. Big parking lot. Very good location and clean qrocery store.”
“My second home I'm very glad that Portland Maine finally has a Dollar general I used to go to one in Florida Missouri when I was visiting my family and friends they have reasonably priced items saves a trip from going all the way to Walmart there's three ladies that work there they're very helpful Eve Heather and I don't know the other one's name she has long black hair all three of them have been very nice to me well I already know two of them but when I go in there I feel welcomed I don't feel like off the wall like a wallflower but if they're not super busy I know these three ladies will always be willing to help you and that's no joke I spend a lot of time at this place it fits my budget stop in sometime you'll see what I'm talking about Heather and Eve Will never let you down like I said if they they're not with a customer then ask them for your help they will be gladly to help you I know it's part of the job but otherwise in that they'll help you in any way they can”
“I like how everything is so easy to find and there's always somebody there to help in case you can't I love how they take pride on how their store looks there's not always boxes in the aisles and people in the way”
“Good Food,Great Meat. Fair Prices. Store Decor harkens back to around 1999, lol ? they play good old Music too! Bring Your Own Bags... or use their Cardboard Boxes. Expect Odd Delicacies like Chicken ? Feet and Gizards and Fried Pork ? Skins.”
“Didn’t have as diverse of a meat selection as some other places I’ve been to in the area but it was conveniently located and had a parking lot. Also, the staff was super nice and assistive although they couldn’t tell use what some of the pre packaged meats were seasoned/ marinated with.
Best thing was they had great prices on most everything I looked at. Especially the meat.”
