“Who would of thought this Italian grocery store would be popping out Sicilian Pizzas that were this good. The dough was fluffy, undercarriage burnt perfectly, very cheesy and the sauce was sooo incredibly good. This shop is most definitely worth a stop at if you’re in the area for pizza or any Italian goods.”
“Beloved Portland butcher shop. Great staff and a nice little market attached, with local breads, basic grocery items, wine, great prepared entrees to take home and sandwiches made to order,all in addition to the great selection of meats. A-1!

“I love this place. Knowing pizza can be polarizing, I ask you to set aside your views on “correct” pizza. Go get one of their Big Mac pies, or a slice of pepperoni, and then look me in the face and tell me it isn’t delicious. Great food. Great people. A true local institution.”

The produces are very fresh and you can't beat the price from other Asian store. If you can't found anything you can always ask the old guy walking around, LOL.”

I used to be a regular while I lived in Maine. I enjoyed finding some of the harder-to-come-by Turkish, Armenian and Levantine snacks and produce. I have been kindly offered a taste of fresh coffee, sweet bread, fresh-off-the-grill meat several times there.
This was the only place that carried my favorite mineral water and raspberry soda, as well as dark chocolate wafers (Eti Karam) that I have yet to find in Colorado. They have a pretty solid frozen goods section as well. The Iraqi kibbe I got here was great. I miss this place so much!

“everything I struggle to find elsewhere is all right here- from spices (pre made kofta and fish seasoning, sumac, Aleppo pepper, huge bags of zaatar) to pantry ingredients (tamarind paste, harissa, preserved lemon) and frozen veg (molokhia and favs beans), I’m always happy with their selection !”

“My go to store for everything halal and arabic. Just shopped for Ramadan, everything is available and some discounted. They even have a section for authentic sudanese staples like chilli, cumin, fava beans and sesame oil. There’s a bakery inside and a butcher shop. A family business that knows how to treat customers the right way. Highly recommended!”
“Excellent epicurean neighborhood specialty market with meats; wine; cheeses; sauces; fresh produce fruits and veggies. Local Maine sourced products. Flowers and seasonal goods as well. Surprisingly large selection of highly curated goods. Prepared foods and gourmet in-house ready to go meals as well. Very expensive but worthwhile for special occasions — definitely not a place to do regular weekly shopping as the prices of everything are very high.”

“There are 4 Asian market in the Portland area and this is one that I frequent every now and then. It’s a small market but packed with stuff.
If you ever in the market for Asian New year “banh tet or banh chung” which is a rice with meat filling eaten at Lunar new year they sell it here near the check out counter. Locals make this and offer at other times as well not only during lunar new year.
Just a good typical Asian market with fresh produce , and varieties of groceries.
Pay them a visit.”

“So far from my native lands, I've struggled with an inability to find real comida Latina in Maine. This store does not check all of my requisite boxes and I was mysteriously unable to find stuff like soft corn tortillas (at Shaws and Hannaford's you are lucky to get some flour tortillas in a plastic bag), but I did find most of everything else I needed. It's a tiny store, but chock full-- everything ranging from your basic Goya or American-Latino products to more exotic imports.”

“The place is a great place if you are around the Cumberland Ave area near the high School part of Cumberland Ave plus has great people that work there always helpful and always welcoming people as they enter the store just overall a really great and happy and helpful place if like I said if your in the high school part of Cumberland Ave I have nothing but good things come from this little store”

“Love everything about this store, from supporting local farmers, to zero-waste initiatives. This is the last of the bulk-food stores in the city, and highly valuable. They also give back to the community offering purchase round-ups to a select monthly cause, or buying a coffee for someone in need. The community needs more places like the Coop.”
“Small store with a small staff. However, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Surprising selection of some niche items, but generally has just the basics. Produce, Bakery, and Deli tend to be well tended, stocked, and fresh - even late in the day.
Pharmacy is overwhelmed by number of customers for its size, but the staff is hard working, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and communicates well.”

“My second home I'm very glad that Portland Maine finally has a Dollar general I used to go to one in Florida Missouri when I was visiting my family and friends they have reasonably priced items saves a trip from going all the way to Walmart there's three ladies that work there they're very helpful Eve Heather and I don't know the other one's name she has long black hair all three of them have been very nice to me well I already know two of them but when I go in there I feel welcomed I don't feel like off the wall like a wallflower but if they're not super busy I know these three ladies will always be willing to help you and that's no joke I spend a lot of time at this place it fits my budget stop in sometime you'll see what I'm talking about Heather and Eve Will never let you down like I said if they they're not with a customer then ask them for your help they will be gladly to help you I know it's part of the job but otherwise in that they'll help you in any way they can”

It is a self contained galore for the African community in Southern Maine. The owners are wonderful people and do good business. I always enjoy coming here to buy braiding hair (mesh).”

Always willing to help, whether it holding an item aside to pickup later that day (or tomorrow morning), or helping input a misbehaving coupon.Even though they're often overrun with customers (not all of them nice!), these ladies are so good under pressure with busy lines and (some) rude customers.Absolute props to those who work here. “It's got a decent inventory. I try to always get my gas here because of the discount. Sometimes people are how should I say... Aloof and don't understand that you can pump gas on either side regardless of which side your gas tank is on because the hoses at the pump will reach far enough so they end up waiting in line because they refuse to go to the open spot that isn't on the side where their gas tank is. Could use a better attendant to guide traffic and educate people on this.”
