Ferry Beach State Park is a lovely destination featuring short walking trails and a pleasant beach area. Visitors can enjoy miles of sandy shoreline, with ample parking available, even during less crowded times. The drive through the woods adds to the park's charm, and while there is an entry fee, amenities like free sunscreen and showers are appreciated. The beach has a variety of wildlife, including nesting piping plovers, so guests are reminded to respect fenced areas. Although some reviews mention seaweed and cooler weather, the beach is generally spacious, making it a suitable spot for exploration. However, there are concerns about the sand pathway from the beach to the parking lot, which can be uncomfortably hot and difficult to navigate. Despite this issue, many visitors find the park clean and beautiful, making it a worthwhile experience, especially for hiking and enjoying nature. Overall, Ferry Beach State Park is regarded as one of the best beaches in Maine, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
Nice state park with short walking trails and a nice beach area. You can walk the beach for miles in either direction. I went on Aug 23 and there was plenty of parking and not crowed.
