“What a special shop, with some really beautiful and issue jewelry! I did a lot of window-shopping in Kennebunkport, but this is the only shop where so actually bought anything. And came away with a beautiful turquoise colored sea glass and silver necklace for me, and Indonesian fresh water pearl necklace for my older daughter, and a really pretty gold ring for my younger daughter, the people there were so friendly, helpful and patient, too. Totally recommend!”

“Stopped in with my partner on our trip to Maine a few weeks ago. The customer service was amazing which seemed hard to come by with our experience at other stores in the area . Shayna helped us out find a gift for my parents. She immediately found something in my price range. She wasn’t pushy at all and had a great sense of humor. Even my partner found something for the house the day before . The gift shop was nice cause everything was original and not the tacky stuff they sell at 90% of the gift shops you go to. If you are going to Maine you must stop in here for not only the great selection but also to support a friendly small business!”
“This shop is unlike anything I've ever seen. Unbelievably beautifully styled and merchandised, but also filled with THE MOST unusual objects for the home and body. Just gorgeous. Owned by two artists, Chris and Michelle also display high-end soaps and jewelry that they have made. Accented with lots of other very cool objects that are uniquely sourced, you won't want to miss this beautiful spot. I would come back to Kennebunkport just to visit Minka again... and I live all the way in California!”

“First of all, Jen and Tanya are amazing. They love what they do and it shows. I am the proud owner of several scarves. My favorite one navy blue and white striped linen. Perfect for spring. My husband loves his gray winter scarf. The jewelry and items from other artists are also wonderful.
When we got my husband’s scarf, they did not have the color he wanted. No worries, they made one for him and shipped it to us.

“Such a great shop in town, with lovely owners. Had a long conversation with them, he's from Ireland with the gift of gab. We talked about all the great places to visit in Ireland and a few of the items in the store. Framed photos were so beautiful and loved the older antiques of Guinness. We bought a few shirts and other authentic Irish items. Will definitely be back because of how friendly they are.”

“We visited Karleen's Ideas Gift Shop last week while on vacation in Kennebunkport. Wow! What an amazing store! There were a huge amount of unique items on sale, with something for everyone. If you're looking for a store to find gifts for friends, colleagues, acquaintances, etc. this is the place! Items looked extremely well made, were totally different from anything we'd seen before in retail stores and we spent quite a while looking as there was so much available! Think unique jewelry; know someone in medicine? Get them a set of anatomically correct heart cufflinks! Get someone a pair of plaid moose earrings. Karleen was extremely sweet, and we learned the proceeds from purchases directly help those with autism. What's not to love!We were thrilled to learn that Karleen has an Etsy store (Karleensideas), so we can buy online when we're back home.”

“Every time I’m in the Kennebunkport area I stop at Compliments and find something very, very special. 42 years in business, amazing!The first time I found a lovely silk and wool designer scarf. This time it is a Josh Simpson glass planet. “David's Native American gallery is amazing. He has curated a really nice collection of indigenous art from all over the continent, including Maine. I was fortunate enough to purchase a piece made by a local sculptor as well as a piece made by a jewelry maker from Canada. David seems to know his artists personally and have a great respect for them. The baskets he has on display are truly astounding!Definitely check this place out if you're in town.
