“We had two rooms while on a recent White Water Rafting trip with Northern Outdoors. I have to say 'Inn By The River' is NOT what I expected in a small town high up in the woods of Maine. It was an incredible find.

The facility is laid out so as to make you feel as though you were at home. The staff could not have been more welcoming and the meals were expertly prepared and presented. Their inhouse restaurant meals are FAR, FAR above anything in any of the high end chain restaurants. I have paid a lot more in some fancy restaurants and received a lot poorer quality . I was really pleasantly impressed.

If you wish you can be served outdoors on the covered porch or on umbrellaed picknick tables and later relax on Adirondack chairs all high on a hill overlooking a beautiful, unspoiled view, of the Kennebec River as it flows by.

I know this sounds like a commercial but it really was a very pleasant surprise.”
