They were the best when they were Infinitely Credit Union. Now they suck. Me and other people I know have gotten their cards hacked multiple times. They also just freeze your card randomly when you make your own payments or purchases. I’ve been late to pay my bills twice now due to this. Their customer service is also the worst. The only person there who seems to know what they’re doing is a girl named Amber. I don’t know her last name, but she actually treats you like a person. She deserves a raise. I miss Infinitely Credit Union so much! The only reason I’m still using Empeople is because if I switched anywhere else my interest rate on my car payment would go up due to todays market.

Ever since the merger, the customer service has dropped immensely. They do not follow up and provide inconsistent information. Just got off the phone with Vicky and she made sure I did not feel heard. I have been talking to them about several aspects to help my family out since I was laid off back in March. She informed me that there were no notes from these conversations, and she had no record of the conversations. It feel great when your credit union doesnt document well and is unwilling to help you out.

This place is good except the lady bank teller with the short hair is practically useless. Always says people’s account balances out loud when they have specifically asked her not to (I overheard this happen last month) and saying incorrect information regarding monthly payments. Every time I’ve gone in there I’ve purposely avoided working with her but today I had no choice. When my app shows a certain dollar amount due & I pay that amount, she very loudly announces that I am short on my payments. I don’t think the concept of over payments = smaller monthly payment the next month is on her mind. Very unnecessary. Other than that woman this place is alright. Every other teller is respectful of private information.

My card recently expired and they failed to send me a new one. I contacted support the day of and the representative told me that they would send me a replacement card.Simple, right? Not quite: Eight days later and still no card. I contacted customer support again only to learn that the person I had originally spoken with had apparently "forgotten" to send my new card, but that they could send me another new card within "3-5" more business days. So, my options were: drive to the nearest branch (I would have done that originally if I had known this would be an issue), or go a total of 11-13 days without any access to my funds. I ended up just going and getting a new one in person, but had I not contacted customer service today I would still be waiting for a card that would never arrive. In fairness, they did apologize, but that doesn't really make me feel better about not being able to buy groceries for over a week. So, I got my new card. All good, right? Nope. Card was immediately declined after I had just activated it within an hour of my attempted purchase. I contacted customer service and even though my card was activated my old (expired) card was still listed in their system as my active card... and apparently the expiration date on my newly printed card is different than what they had on file... again, this card was just issued. The people I spoke to were lovely, but this bank has tanked since Deere bought out Infinity. What a shame.Really not the best customer service in this instance.

Ever since the merger I’ve been having ongoing issue. Fraud un resolved. My cc with a $1000 limit is at $1500 somehow and impossible to get someone in the branch in the phone.

I agree with all the other posters. We have been members since about 2016 and had once thought we would utilize Infinity for all our banking needs. The merger with Deere and change to Empeople (their new name) changed that for us. First the lie and say that Infinity will still be keeping their name (at the time it was showing Deere Family Credit Union on ACH transfers). I called the credit union and told them about that, and it seemed like the local (Maine) people didn't realize that was happening. Then they removed the shared banking that was very attractive because we had a credit union in our town that participates when we couldn't get to the Arundel branch. Then they removed Saturday hours. Now paperwork snafus have cropped up. And it seems like Deere is not big into the transparency that they touted when they merged, because it seems like they are making changes and then not disclosing to people until they have already happened.Once we sell our house, we will be leaving Empeople for a more friendly, Maine based credit union. As an afterthought, we as members should ask the question 'Why?'. The answer might surprise you. Infinity was very well financed before the merger, so it was not the need for capital. As one poster on another website said 'Size matters to Liz (the CEO) and not a single Maine CU wanted to merge with her. She used to work in Illinois so she knows the CEOs there well.' Now that Liz is out (having left for a better job in Massachusetts) and an executive from Illinois is the new CEO, we should ask him that question. For more explanation on that question, read this link:

This used to be my primary bank but ever since they merged it has gone downhill. I switched to five county and have loved it! However infinity got rid of shared branching so it’s now so difficult to pay my credit card. Now they’re not taking or giving coin?! What kind of bank is this?! It was explained that it’s too costly to deal with change. I’m sorry but as a bank if you can’t afford to deal with coin, close your doors. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CREDIT UNION!! There are so many better options in Maine that are actually local.

Ever since infinity was taken over, the service hit rock bottom. I was with them for over 30 years. Today, I walked in and closed my accounts. Drive true gone, hardly anybody in the building anymore, supposed to deal with people over the phone on the other site of the country. The don't care about people with HOH or being deaf or in general are not computer people. Today, I was also told, that coins are not a legal tender in their place........

I have been a member for over 12 years. Up until Deere acquired them, they were a great bank. The customer service reps are still great, which is why I'm giving the bank 2 stars. If it weren't for them, I'd happily make that 1 star. However, within the past 10 days, my opinion of the bank has begun to tank. Dealing with my card has been a nightmare. Just got a brand new one and already it's having issues. It has not been linked to anything since I haven't gotten around to it so there shouldn't be any issues. Yet, here I am again. I'm currently on hold, have been for over 30 minutes with no answer. This is not the Infinity I have had outstanding service with for over 12 years. Unfortunately, I will be looking for a bank elsewhere when they open in the morning.

I had a bizarre experience. I was looking to roll over an IRA from one firm into Infinity. I read up on Infinity and, wanting to stay local, I called them. I was told to open a checking or savings online and go from there. I did, paying the $5. Several days later, I received a check for $5! I called Infinity to find out what was going on and received no explanation. I was told I could come into the CU. I am not sure what for but thats how it was left. I am still stunned. I have never had this kind of experience at a bank/credit union. The lack of a letter or verbal explanation is troubling. Clearly they arent the place for retired people.

****Update: Today I was contacted by Ben Nickel who works for the Credit Union he reminded me why I loved this bank so much, and why I didn’t want to leave and go elsewhere. Not only did he apologize, he offered help after seeing my review, and understood all my concerns!! I am beyond amazed that they called me after seeing the below review that says a lot about them as a business, and how they feel about their members. I am beyond impressed with the way they handled my concerns!!!**********The best bank BEFORE they were bought out!!! Now they are closed on Saturday, no longer are a part of the shared branching, I no longer get paid early like before it will say pending pending but they will gladly hit me with overdraft fees even though their time table changed with no notice to members. They are no longer a part of the CU24 so ATM fees are ridiculous. Their online banking app changed and not for the better. I stayed with them because I loved the bank they used to be. So in need of help financially I apply for a loan thinking my years of loyalty and direct employment would count for something and was denied. Also not willing to work with you on a level for overdraft fees that even aren’t supposed to be there if not for their change in direct deposit. They are no longer a credit union for the people they are a BANK in all the worst that comes with it! Now I cannot unlock my debit card that I lock after every use due to the fact I don’t want any more fees. Now you can argue that I should be more careful with my money but with the climate and the cost of living I’m paycheck to paycheck due to these changes in operation it has lead to a vicious cycle of living in the negative because I have no other choice.
