Attended the Candlelight concert: ABBAThe selection of songs was excellent, and the musicianship was terrific. I especially enjoyed how each member of the quartet spoke a bit about their personal lives and how the songs being played connected to their life. One really got a sense that the musicians were really enjoying not only playing the pieces, but the whole night’s atmosphere. The venue provided comfortable seating, excellent views of the stage, and very good sound quality.Highly recommend!!

Tribute to Queen. My honest reviews would be mixed. I think authentic Queen fans could not help but say, ‘what happened to the intended mood of the music?’ I think there was two songs where I felt inclined to tap my toes…certainly no adrenaline rush! No impulse to sing along or dance! And it was only a little over an hour with no intermission. On the other hand, if the intent was to show how music throughout the ages has had unifying factors, it was amazing how their renditions sounded a lot like the opera pieces they played; then again, Mr. Mercury was a very theatrical writer with mini operas in some songs. Unfortunately, as a violin person, I did notice that their playing had a few pitchy parts and sloppiness which I don’t think many would notice. But, the venue was packed, had a good vibe, the candlelight stage was beautiful and people were actually dressed nicely. The players were engaging on stage but should never have said they were going to ‘try to rock the house.’ They did not ‘rock the house’ because a string quartette with no percussion is not a rock band and should not try to pretend to be one. They played lovely arrangements adapted to a string quartette, so I would say it was an enjoyable , operatic interpretation of classic rock, and interpretation is what art receives in its emulation.

This place was a nice surprise. I had never been until last year. Very modern atmosphere but still classical. The art would be somewhat a representation of the true Canadian history and set up very meticulously. I got myself a pass so I can catch events throughout the year. Prices range. Less expensive that way but still worth it. Would recommend it to anyone especially tourists or guests to Winnipeg, Manitoba. It's a good peaceful walk for the day with a choice of stairs or elevators.

It is a great choice to spend some quality time if you really love arts. Loved the paintings that showcased so many stories that was left behind for others to exlpore and walk through it. I absolutely loved when i saw the "small town" created in there( forget what it was called). So many paintings epicting the stories of jesus chirst too.

I visited the gallery nearly a week ago and I’m still thinking about the Tim Gardner exhibit. The way this was setup, how his story was told, and the flow of the space absolutely highlighted Tim’s talent. In emoji form, this exhibit is ?.I love the fact the first floor of the gallery is free to all. The Inuit art is so beautiful and the sheer volume of what’s in the gallery took my breath away. It makes me want to learn more about the stone that was used and the process behind the creation.Overall, a gorgeous gallery with inspiring exhibits and permanent pieces. The exterior alone is a piece of art. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Winnipeg.

The collection of Indigenous art was great (although I wish they'd have plaques letting you know the medium of each piece, and the artist in the big white hall). The rest of the art gallery was good, but beware that this is smaller than other art museums. If you are 25 or under and live in Manitoba be sure to sign up for a free membership online which gives you free admission.

The gallery feels more like a museum with a collection of modern art. Not sure why it's rated so highly, maybe their events? Majority of it can be skipped. Go only if you can get in for free / highly discounted or if you are really into self-interpretation designs. Otherwise don't bother.

The old white guy at the admission was pretty rude and I was unimpressed with that as he insisted that I check my purse- with my meds in it- in a locker meanwhile, old women with massive totes were okay to go up, no issue. I find that pretty damn off putting. The exhibits were okay, the WAG really should consider an audio guide with the northern exhibit I think that would have made it really neat.
