“My family took the pumpkin glass blowing class & it was so much fun. Joshua was an amazing teacher and our pumpkins turned out so well. The personalized attention made us feel confident & comfortable, even as total beginners. The pieces they have for sale in their shop are so gorgeous as well!”

“We did a couples class in September, and it was worth every penny. The instructor helped us every step of the way. She was very knowledgeable and patient with us absolutely newbies. We didn’t realize how long the full process takes- the instructor will glaze and create feet on your work, and she made a handle for my mug- and it took a couple months for that to be done. So, plan ahead if you want your work for gifts!”

“I recently visited Corradetti for a glass blowing workshop and I was blown away! Nikko was our instructor and he did an amazing job at explaining and showing us what to do. We had a blast and could’ve stayed for hours beyond our allotted time just learning and chatting with Nikko. They also have beautiful items for purchase. Highly recommend checking out a workshop, you won’t be disappointed!”

“The Emerson Bromo-Seltzer Tower has been a Baltimore landmark since its construction in 1911 as the tallest building in the city. The tower was built by Capt. Isaac Emerson, the inventor of the headache remedy Bromo-Seltzer, and designed by Joseph Evans Sperry (also designer of the Brewers Exchange). It once adjoined Emerson's Bromo-Seltzer factory, but the factory is no longer standing.

The most interesting feature is the still-functioning tower clock, the face of which displays the word BROMO-SELTZER instead of numbers. Modeled on the tower of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, the tower was topped by a 51-foot revolving replica of the blue Bromo-Seltzer bottle. The bottle was illuminated with 596 lights and could be seen 20 miles away. Unfortunately, the bottle was removed in 1936 due to structural concerns. To the chagrin of many locals (including several Baltimore Sun editorial writers), it has not yet been replaced.”

“The shop is filled with beautiful & well crafted mosaic art and jewelry by proprietor Gail Rosen and artworks by others. Gail also sells a large selection of interesting and often visually stunning crystals, rocks, towers, fossils, and stone carvings.

I've bought many things from Andamento over the past year, including small mosaics, accent lamps, goddess figures, and gorgeous polished stones. And I just picked up from Gail a commission she made for me for a traditional yin/yang symbol made of black and white glass tesserae. I love it!”
