The Flats at Professional Arts Building offers a quiet, secure, and well-maintained residence in Baltimore's Mount Vernon neighborhood. The building features a mix of young professionals, college students, and older adults, with no issues reported from noisy neighbors. Apartments are described as spacious, with some offering abundant natural light from many windows. The historic building, constructed in 1927, does have some drafty windows that can whistle in the wind and impact temperature efficiency. Units are kept in great condition, with freshly painted walls and shampooed carpets upon move-in, and kitchen and laundry appliances that function well. Minor maintenance requests are resolved quickly. Residents highlight the exceptional staff as a key strength, specifically noting the fantastic and professional leasing agent and the friendly, easy-to-contact maintenance supervisor. The building provides key fob entry, security cameras, and a cleaning crew that maintains the lobby and hallways. Amenities include a 24-hour basement gym and a first-floor cafe that grants residents a discount. A trash chute and mail drop-off are conveniently located on each floor, and packages are reliably received. No parking is offered on-site, but street permits and nearby garages are available. The urban location provides easy walking access to a supermarket, CVS, coffee shops, the Mount Vernon Marketplace, and transit links. The area is considered safe, with a nearby park and tree-lined streets. The overall experience is highly rated, praised as a great place to call home, particularly for those specifically seeking the Mount Vernon area without a car.
Front door does not lock likeIt’s supposed to, puts tenants lives at risk…allowing anybody to enter building.

The apartment building used to be great with its quiet neighborhood, very responsive managing team. But they changed managing team multiple times in the past few years, which made it more unpredictable. The current maintenance team refuses to fix some facilities and blames issues like leaking roof to the tenants.
