The Sound Garden is an iconic independent music store, named the 2nd Best Record Store in America by Rolling Stone Magazine. It is considered the best record store in Maryland and a great place for CDs and Blu-rays, with an amazing and ever-rotating stock of quality, sought-after media. Customers often find at least one thing they need from their collection list. The store features awesome acoustic shows and listening parties. While some wish for more space, it is praised as the only real record store left in Baltimore besides Normal's. Many drive from far away to visit, drawn by the nicest, most knowledgeable staff who are pleasant and conversational. The staff are known for their excellent service, hooking customers up and knowing exactly where everything is. It is a store with a great selection and many great finds over the years, often at cheaper prices than elsewhere. The joint deserves high praise and a visit is highly recommended.
