University Market & Deli is a convenience store and deli servicing Mt. Vernon and the University of Baltimore. It offers a great selection of sandwiches, hoagies, and snacks, with many topping options. The sandwiches, like the corned beef, are absolutely amazing and delicious. They also have good carrot cake, described as to die for. The store has a solid selection of snacks, beverages, and odds and ends. However, the customer service can be a bit off-putting, though some customers choose not to pay attention to the attitude. Staff are noted to accommodate custom sandwich requests without complaint, treating regulars like family. The aisles in the store can be a bit tight. While reasonably priced for a convenience store, some perishables and items like cake are considered expensive. There is some confusion regarding store hours, as signs say 24/7 but it has been found closed before 7am. Overall, it is viewed as cool and certainly better than chain stores.
Nice people with a basic selection of groceries. Careful though, the prices are RIDICULOUSLY high. Especially on the unmarked goods. A packet of cheese was $4 each; where the same packet would be $2 elsewhere. That experience left a very sour taste in my mouth and has made me not want to visit again. Great selections of sandwiches, hoagies, etc. The customer service is a bit off putting and might be the only reason customers wouldn't return. Customer service is everything, people won't spend their hard earned money where they're not appreciated.

Reasonably priced convenience store and deli servicing Mt. Vernon and the University of Baltimore. Good sandwiches and a solid selection of snacks and beverages. Aisles can be a bit tight. Certainly better than the chain stores.
