We had a passport appointment for our child on 9/5/25 at 11 AM. Both my wife and I had to take off from work to be there since both parents are required. At 10:30 that morning, we got a call saying the person who handles passports called out sick and the appointment was canceled...
I get that people get sick, but there should’ve been a backup plan. We rearranged our whole day and wasted time off work for nothing. That’s really frustrating and unacceptable.

Went to have fingerprints done. Had to wait for like 45 minutes for the employee who does fingerprints to return from lunch after being told it would only be a 15 minute wait. So while sitting in there waiting, I’m looking around and noticed how filthy the entire office is. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years! Pure filth in this post office. When finally in the back office where fingerprints and passports are handled, the same scenario. Vertical blinds are broken, slats missing, dirty floors, walls, and just a filthy office. The employee was nice though, but never seen a post office so dirty in my life. Where is the cleaning crew?????

Been going up there for the past 4 days to ship out orders for my business. Can’t ship any orders or print out any orders because they said there Wi-Fi/internet is down. They haven’t had internet for 9 days now. Just confused on why this long. Why haven’t the company did anything about it. Having shipping issues is one thing but missing out on money is something totally different.

I sell online and is forced to selectively inform my customers that are serviced by this post office that I will NEVER ship another package to them using USPS. I have lost thousands of dollars worth of products and shipping costs when shipping items to areas in Bowie, MD that are serviced by this post office. I usually ship via Priority Mail or Express Mail and nearly all my packages are either delayed, damaged or mysteriously lost. The last item that I shipped there was at a cost of $450.00 and was shipped via Priority’Mail and took 3 weeks for it to be delivered to the customer. This was a perishable item and was labeled appropriately and per the tracking, it was sitting in this post office for more than 2 weeks. Terrible and unacceptable.

Bowie Post Office - Since when is this an acceptable way to deliver mail? I know you probably don’t want to deliver Amazon packages, but when Amazon sends it via USPS, the expectation is that the package is put in the mailbox or left at the front door. Not cool Bowie USPS.

I’ve dealt with this location since moving to Bowie, and for 4 years they’ve lost countless pieces of important mail, packages, and most recently my checks. It seems every time I wait for an important piece of mail it never arrives. I go to the post office and no one ever seems to be able to help. I’m always left having to play phone tag with who I was expecting mail from to get the situation figured out. I’ve had to cancel checks only to have them not arrive once more and start the whole process over again. I’ve spent so much time fixing the post offices mistakes, it is starting to feel like a part time job at this point. Can we please get mail right, I’ve never had this issue anywhere else.

I had my kids passports done here. And guess what it’s been over 2 months and still no passports. They aren’t even in the system. They took my money and I don’t anything to show for it. Their number doesn’t work so you can’t even call the post office!!!

I've had some gift cards go missing out of my mail box, I noticed my w-2 was slightly ripped open like someone was trying to look inside it, and now they've lost track of all my mail after I had it forwarded there. The next suspicious thing that happens out of this office I will report to the federal authorities.

What’s the point of having ADA buttons for the entrance doors if they’re not going to work! That’s right! You push them and nothing happens. I’m in a wheelchair. Seeing other customers more frustrated than I am about the buttons not having power for the doors to open is sad because I’m somewhat used to the inconvenience even though I shouldn’t be. Oh and make the doors wider for a power wheelchair to fit through. Do better USPS Bowie!

If I can give a negative star I would. This post office is absolutely horrible. They never answer the phone. The Mail Carriers are rude. I had to physically go to the post office to address my issue because they don't answer the phone and even after speaking with a manager my issue is still unresolved. Useless!

Poor Customer Service / Staff unprofessional. I was inside the post office at approximately 4:50pm. Myself along with 2 other customers inside approached the counter at 5:05 and were advised the counter staff that they closed at 5pm. The staff refused to wait on the customers 3 customers that were already inside!! Needless to say I will be taking my business elsewhere
