“I have a small lily pond in my back yard. It was built to look completely natural with a small waterfall and stream. I bought the materials to build this pond from Lilypons Water Gardens and have patronized them for the past 14 years (+) for Water Lilies, snails, tadpoles and shubunkin fish. This lily pond has become a treasured component of my yard and I recently renewed it with new lilies etc. Then, the pump for my falls and stream failed. I called the company and was very kindly referred to Richard Koogle who eased my anxiety (I didn't want to stress the fish and other creatures in the pond) and helped me replace my water source. For any aspect of water gardening I highly recommend Lilypons Water Gardens.”
“I used them to tune up and sharpen the blades of my tractor and push mower and they did a fantastic job. I also purchase bulk mulch from them regularly and like the quality of the product. Their rates and prices are very reasonable”
“Customer service is superb. I went in looking for a snake plant, and walked out with 3 other plants. They have a descent variety of plants, and they can pot them for an extra fee. The prices are very reasonable as well. I'll be back.”
“Greg at Potomac Garden Center is a wealth of knowledge and has ushered both my lawn and garden to the envy of the neighborhood with just the right recommendations.”
“Carlo was extra extra helpful. Came in straight away after we asked for assistance, got a vanity that was waaaay on the top of their huge display racks but heard no complain from him, he was quick, patient and delivered our vanity with a smile and fistbump. great job! Looking forward to be served by Carlo on our next visit.”
“I was originally considering installing a vinyl fence, but I decided to go with trees instead—and I have absolutely no regrets! The 12-foot trees add a beautiful, natural touch to the backyard that a fence simply couldn't match. Plus, they'll keep growing, providing even more privacy over time.
The crew from Prior Nursery was professional, efficient, and shared helpful tips on how to care for the trees to ensure they thrive. I highly recommend Prior Nursery for anyone thinking about creating a living fence. It’s a decision you won’t regret!
Yes... I need to cut my grass.”
“Writing to rave about the Christmas trees, this was my first time purchasing from a nursery overall and WOW. I bought the tree on December 10th, it's been a month and it's still soft! The bristles aren't falling off everywhere. I've barely had to vaccum at all!! The days of box store xmas trees has past for me...”
“Great place!!Enormous selection, supremely knowledgeable owner and a quiet, out-of-the-way location make this one of the nicest nurseries we've been to. Devoted entirely to azaleas (with some rhododendrons thrown in for good measure) it's a real gem of a place. We're lucky to have it in our area.Pay attention to the hours posted; don't just show up when it's convenient to you. It's run by just a few people (mostly one) so be considerate. Also, if you have trouble finding it, turn at the sign for Doc Waters Cidery.”
“So after going to a local nursery and looking at Christmas trees, attempting to shop local for the holiday... I just could not stomach paying that much of a premium for a local vendor. I'm 100% willing to chip in a bit extra to buy local. But this nursery, about 8 minutes away from Home Depot, was almost twice the price for a tree that was 2 feet shorter. Some of the cheapest trees there were 80 dollars, and they were a bit rough off. Most of the trees we're 109 and up. So I made my way over to this Home Depot and found a tree that's about 6.5 feet for about 60 bucks. I'm sorry local nursery. Like, I said- I'd be fine with a bit of a mark up... but not a 100 percent markup for a shorter tree. I'm sorry, I just can't stomach that ;/ In any event, I ran into this place and the guy in the nursery was SO helpful. He asked me a bunch of questions about the tree I wanted. I'm always a little bit lost when shopping for trees. Do I feel confident that I know the difference between a fraser fir, balsam fir, noble fir - absolutely not. Do I know the difference between those and a white pine... yes. I know A LITTLE something lol. Just not a lot of something. So the super nice guy took down some trees for me, cut off the netting and shook them out just so I could see all the branches. He was as nice as could be. Then, the young gentleman who attached the tree to the top of my car was also as pleasant as pie. Is that even a saying? It should be if it isn't one. He was a super nice guy who I found out has worked at Home Depot for 5 years now, and he's planning on going into the Air Force soon enough. He did a solid job of attaching my tree to my car roof, and he was even hesitant to accept a tip when I offered it. I did insist that he took it. All in all, a solid wonderful experience at Home Depot in Germantown getting a tree. It was secure as could be on the way home and I love how it looks all trimmed up :)”
“I got 3 different christmas trees that were faulty when I unpacked them at home. Im still not sure if the problem was me or them, but Nadira and the entire customer service team were nice enough to help me put together the tree I ended up taking home with me in the store to make sure it worked.
5/5 for all of the customer service team working on 12/16/2025”
“Brant, the owner of Susanna Farm Nursery, personally took care of us in our project to improve the look of our front yard. He came to the house, assessed the space, drafted a plan of plantings, presented the draft to us, got our OK, and installed the plan, on schedule. He brought several additional plants a possible substitutes, depending on how we felt about our initial choices. Brant knows his stock, knows plants, and instills confidence. We felt very comfortable following his lead. Pricing was very reasonable, too.”
