“This is the absolute best place to learn jewelry making. Most of the reviews on here talk about classes and while I cant speak to these directly, if anyone ever has a desire to make an engagement ring or wedding bands, really any piece of jewelry. I highly recommend this place! I approached the owner, Dan, with an idea for an engagement ring with a stone, a few pictures of generally what I was looking for the ring to look like...and that's about it. He was able to take my idea and fully walk me through the cost breakdown of materials and lessons, process of purchasing materials (including the stone), and then the actual implementation of making the ring. He taught me the basic flow of how a ring gets made: shaping the metal via hammering, carving the extra accents on the ring in my specific request, making the setting, filing, soldering the pieces together, and polishing the piece as a whole.We practiced in silver first which I really appreciated having never done this before. So I ended up actually with two finished pieces in end, a practice ring (silver), and the actual engagement ring (platinum). The final engagement ring cost less than what I would have paid for in a store and is physically stronger than a ring from a store due to it being handmade and not cast. Honestly if my house were closer to the studio, I'd sign up for the classes that this place offers. Even though most of my lessons were largely private sessions, I still got to interact with other people taking his classes and his extended study students.This place completely exceeded my expectations in every way. I'll definitely be coming back here to make the wedding bands with my fiancée.”

I entrusted A&Co to design everything from my wedding band to repurposing family heirlooms. Megan is thoughtful, deliberate, and carefully considers the most intricate details of each project in collaboration with Tim. I appreciate the time she spent with us over (numerous!) appointments and emails to create the perfect solution for my engagement ring setting and wedding band combination. It was a difficult project because it required resetting a large emerald cut diamond band in a way that did not hit the corresponding wedding band, but did not project out awkwardly (in addition to designing a wedding band from scratch). The set turned out beautifully and I get many compliments.I have returned for a number of other projects- resetting earrings, my husband’s wedding band and a matching gold band for myself, and to create a necklace-earring-runny set from a ruby bracelet - a gift from my mother-in-law. The experience and individual attention is unparalleled. Each project is thought-out, packaged up in a beautiful box with appraisal envelope. “This has to be one of my favorite antique stores. Adele and Mara are knowledgeable and passionate about all the merchandise they have. We literally could’ve talked to them all day if we weren’t holding up the line for others to enter the store.They have quite the collection that is fairly priced as they’ve done the research on each item. I ended up purchasing the most beautiful set of silverware I’ve seen, and intend to come back at another date to buy the cutest tea strainer I’ve seen (fingers crossed it’s still there!)Also want to say thank you for not discriminating against us when we came in. This is one of the few antique stores where we were treated like normal people and not stalked around like we’re thieves just because of the color of our skin or treated lowly because we’re not super rich.”

We had a rare stone and wanted to make an engagement ring truly unique and elegant to fit the stone. Within three weeks, Ivan provided several designs matching and exceeding our ideas. Emily and Dejan also provided help with the design and for the final product Eduardo was able to include technically challenging additions. I went in with one of my watches thinking I needed to replace the battery only to find out the watch doesn't have a battery but it's based on wear for function, imagine that. They did place new battery in one of my watches and they were able to size my new coach watch! They were super quick I was in and out in about 20 minutes. They were also super kind and very attentive and very knowledgeable on watches. Appreciate them very much will recommend always!”

“Approximately 3 months ago after celebrating 13 years of marriage, I experienced a daunting realization that the main diamond on my ring had gone missing. Searching frantically for my insurance documents and not finding it, I decided to call the Helzberg Columbia store to see what options were available. The 1st representative I spoke with was pleasent and very helpful. She found my insurance information and advised that I wouldn't have an issue when I came in to have the diamond replaced. When I got to the store i was asked for all the details of the diamond -cut, clarity etc. in which I did not know. Fast forward, my ring was sent off and i was then advised that i may not get the same diamond as a replacement of equal value, clarity etc. Disappointed to her this news i continued to question the valitity of what i was being advised. I was told that no other store would advise differently or be willing to help especially since it was the main diamond. To top it off i was advised i may have to pay over 3k to replace it. After a few back and forth conversations with a representative who did not have the will to help me resolve this issue, I called another location. Upon calling Helzenburg Oxen hill, I was greated by the most helpful staff here. You could tell that they genuinely cared about my experience and went the extra mile to assist me. Mrs.Tonya & Mrs Corazon, were the absolute best! I don't know what level of effort it took but she found all the details of my original purchase, the information about my diamond etc. Not only did she ensure that the correct diamond replacement occurred she and her staff were a true example of good old fashioned Customer service! The new aged Chick-fil-A "my pleasure" type of service. It's unfortunate that I had to drive over 1 1/2 hours to resolve an issue that could have been handled at my local store when gas prices are at an all time high but the experience was worth every mile. Huge THANK YOU to the oxenhill Helzenburg staff! You all are truly amazing! I hope that this store gets the accolades it deserves and that each customer who spends thousands of dollars in sentimental diamonds have an opportunity to be assisted by staff like yours who will make every experience a good one!”

“I purchased a necklace from her during Flower Mart festival at the National Cathedral. I tried to wear it next day to the Birthday party and it got broke slightly. I was so worried as it’s not inexpensive item and I don’t know her. I texted to show her what happened with the item. She immediately responded told me to mail it to her. I mailed it to her she let me know as soon as she received my mail. Within a week she fixed everything included a pair of matching earrings and mailed back to me.
