“After receiving a few moving quotes, I went with Blake and Sons based on a recommendation. Crew arrived promptly at the scheduled time. The crew foreman and I discussed the plan for the day and went over a few details and the crew got to work right away. The guys worked hard and maneuvered around my family as we continued to pack up the remaining items. When the truck was loaded, the crew departed for the move-in house and took a well deserved lunch break on the way. Once work resumed at the move-in house, the crew and I discussed the names of each room to stay organized and they got to work right away. For the person reading this: You really need 2 people to direct a crew of 4 movers. It was just me directing and the guys were always looking for me to see where things were supposed to go. Make sure you have 1 person near the truck directing movers, and 1 person inside the house to make sure things are going to the correct room. The day took longer than anticipated based on the quote I received. I was quoted 9 hours. I paid 10.75 hours for a day that started at 8am and ended at 6pm. While frustrating to pay 1.75 hours more than the quote, the guys stayed as long as it took to complete the job. Damage report: a few wall scrapes and 2 dents in the auxiliary fridge. Not bad considering the large pieces included with this move. There was also some damage on the deck possibly from sliding deck furniture over the hand rails, I'm not really sure. Gave the crew a small tip and I sincerely hope it was not an insulting amount because the foreman looked a little upset with me but maybe he was just tired from a long day. Overall a good move.”
