“I was just checking the hours and saw the absolutely bonkers bad reviews - this place does not deserve the bad rating. They are a great little shop.I grew up donating my old clothes so to be able to bring them here and sell a few items or some shoes I don't wear is such a good deal. They often don't pick all my stuff but will sometimes recommend a different Uptown Cheapskate location that would take my items. The employees are always nice and do a great job, the store is always clean and organized, and I've found some great quality items here including a vintage Coach bag and Frye riding boots.Their prices are fair for all the effort they put in - especially since they pay for the clothes vs donation-based. I love coming here and have gotten a lot of my closet from here.”

“LOTS of cool stuff in this shop, which contains items from several sellers. Great authentic MCM furniture and vintage clothing. The bookseller was loudly complaining (I mean Loudly) about an employee? Needless to say, I didn't buy any books! Heh.”

“Very unassuming place. Once I parked I was not sure I was in the correct area. It's at the end of an industrial strip mall. It has a great assortment of hardware some is salvage and some is dead stock. Inventory changes based on what they get. Overall I would say if you're in the market for vintage hardware or doors come here.”

“I always find a special piece or 5 .They are selective but curate a nice collection. They have a rack dedicated to fitness clothing which is mostly filled with Lulu. Denim selection is solid as well. The place is small but a gem.”

“We've been to this merchant a few times. I have a differentability (thank you to my little great niece for changing my perspective ?) and I some times require an aide for walking. My husband and I found some beautiful hand carved canes here and at very reasonable prices. We receive constant compliments going through the airport home and even more when I use them as a walking aide.Purchased hand made leather shoes from here and my son was elated with his gift ?.The staff is always very friendly and you can meet some very interesting people here as well. The store has two levels so don't miss going upstairs. There is definitely a lot to see ? so plan on spending some time to find your treasure. With all that said a little more organization would be nice so you can better see the selection and they have cats all over the place which I was not a fan of. However, my family and I visit here pretty much every time we're in the area and we look forward to viewing their new offerings.Check them out! Hopefully you'll find something interesting of your own in your visit.”

“Best vintage shop ever! Mercedes is my favorite! She has such a good eye, so her collection is always amazing, and she is fantastic at picking pieces for you that you wouldn’t normally choose but that then become your favorite. I have been blessed to experience this phenomenon many times with Mercedes! She is also just so kind and lovely to chat with. She and her shop are true gems. ?”

“I have gone to many consignment stores over the years, but Secondi remains to be my favorite and forever go to because of the professionalism, superior customer service and selection of outfits, and above all the kindness at the store. I often go consignment shopping by myself, and when I step of the changing room, I am greeted with so many encouraging thoughts- "wow, that dress looks great on you! You like Johnny Was? Let me find another top for you." Secondi is an amazing business and is a gift to not just Dupont Circle but Washington D.C. I can't recommend it enough.”

“Not going to lie, the clothes are overpriced for the most part. I think the price on the sweater I got was fine, but most of their shirts were the same price. The sweater I found is super comfortable and gets my partner a lot of compliments!”

“Every time we go in, the folks there are friendly and smiling and ready to help you find what you're looking for. They have a very eclectic selection of antiques and oddities. We always enjoy just browsing and normally buy something every time we go. Admittedly, on some items, the prices seem a tad unreasonable, though those are set by the individual sellers, not by the owners of the Village, and sometimes the seller is willing to negotiate. If you're in the area, it is worth stopping by.”

“Lovely and well-curated vintage shop in Eastern Market. Carries a good selection of contemporary consignment, vintage labels, and luxury designer items. I've found Clothes Encounters prices designer items very reasonably priced compared to other consignment shops in the region. I always find something amazing here.”

“Small selection, but the best antique/consignment jewelry in D.C. I found my engagement ring here. INSANELY great deals, especially on diamond rings and higher-value pieces. The manager is so helpful and friendly!”

“The people who work here are super nice. They often have such great sales. I prefer stuff that's even older than what they typically sell, but it's worth it to come here for shoes.”

“The negative comments about the workers being “rude” “arrogant” confirmed I needed to stop by but everyone there was chill and helpful. Nice designer that’s nicely priced”

“Rainbow shops are wonderful. They have a wide variety of items for all sizes. The floor space can be a little cramped but there are gems in those racks. Come and enjoy!”

“Good quality clothing that's well organized by size and type, and good selection of housewares and linens. Prices are on the higher side, which seems to be the trend for several larger thrift stores. Also has some new items like socks, They have half-off sales around major holidays like Memorial Day and Labor Day, when you can score great finds at more reasonable thrift/used prices. Also got a carry on with spinner wheels for only $16 (Sept 2023), which was a great find.”

“Great finds! Love this place. There is a huge selection of every part of a thrift store. There are so many clothes, it is a bit overwhelming. They wife variety of home goods. The line was super long and there’s late, but worth it for the finds.”
