Janes Island State Park is a family-friendly campground situated on the Daugherty Creek Canal, which feeds into the Tangier Sound. The park offers over 30 miles of marked water trails and 7 miles of pristine beaches, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The campground features tent sites, trailer hookups, and cabin rentals, all of which are well-maintained and clean. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and paddle boarding, with a well-stocked camp store on-site. The park's staff are consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. While the park is generally well-received, some visitors have reported issues with non-potable water and an abundance of bugs during certain times of the year, so it's important to plan accordingly. Overall, Janes Island State Park offers a beautiful and well-equipped setting for a family getaway or outdoor adventure.
