Janes Island State Park Campground is a very nicely maintained campground. We had a great view of the salt marsh across from the bulkhead on Daugherty Canal. Gorgeous sunsets. Went took out inflatable Kayaks out to the remote beach across the flatcap Basin and had a great time swimming in the lower Chesapeake bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, and will definitely return.\\nWe took an easy 15 minute bike ride into Crisfield for Ice Cream at the Waters Edge Cafe, which can be enjoyed at the Gazebo on the Dock at the end of Main Street.

Nice for state park. Boat ramps. Tent camping. Trailer. Hook up and cabin rentals. Park very clean. Water and waste hook up. Have no prices. Did a drive thru. Most areas closed unless a registered guest.

Extremely buggy campground, even worse than Florida. Expect to get bit by flies, mosquitoes, sand fleas, etc. We weren’t be able to enjoy the outdoor life here.

It was ok.. clean place, trail with labels on trees, canoe , kayaks and paddle boards for rent, small nature center with staffed animals and some skeletons of fauna... The main disappointment was no swimming area and no crabs and fish in that channel. .

Beautiful state park, got lucky with perfect weather to camp in early June so there actually weren’t many bugs.Note on the water pumps: I noticed the water spigot in my loop (Loop C) had a red handle. I recall drinking state park water from the pump in the past but technically red means non-potable; only blue means potable. I got food poisoning upon returning home and I’m wondering if it’s from the red spigot. Remember to boil your water if you’re not sure!! I wished I had gotten more clarity on the spigot water before I ended up getting sick.

Great park, large sites, bathrooms very clean, as well as the entire park. Organized sunset kayaking trip was a treat.

To explore the park proper, you must have a boat of some kind. We enjoyed a picnic on the mainland and took a look from the observation tower. We thought the campground looked nice, until the woman at the nature center/gift shop said, “If pitching a tent in a bug infested swamp is your thing…”. Overall, she was nice and helpful with other questions. However, there was a meeting of sorts happening in the nature area and we waited until they wrapped up before heading in to explore. No staff welcomed us or even acknowledged our presence in the nature center. It looked a little run-down. Wish we would’ve brought our kayaks to explore, but not much happening here to make me want to take the family back on our next vacation.

I adore Janes Island. This was the first year the 'no see-um' bugs were horrendous. Biting constantly. We started a fire and kept it going to keep the bugs away. Always amazing sunrises and sunsets and beautiful water to paddle around. The trailer hook ups, water and bathrooms all worked great and were pretty clean. The staff are super friendly and the store is well stocked. I will definitely be back. Make sure to book ahead as they fill up pretty quick each year.Restrooms: Fairly clean and stocked

Campground was clean, bathrooms were updated(in loop b) showers were roomy& had great water pressure. Took a naturalist walk. Great programs! Nice hiking trails though there is standing water along the trail so the mosquitoes are horrendous. Nice sunsets over the canal.

What a beautiful little park. Great place to get away for the weekend and paddle around the island on any of the paddle trails. Also good for day trips. Always be prepared for the bugs and you'll have a good trip.Restrooms: Very nice and clean for a state park camping area.Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly. Everyone had one including myself. Was great to see the dogs loving as much as we did.
