Narrow walk ways, the staff seem to be overworked by management, and a broken AC. A few days ago, paraned came to take an employee to the hospital who passed out from hear exhaustion. It's a shame, they have a nice selection, but the treatment of the workers is inhumane.

Where can I start... The smell entering was umm stinky. The store was dirty disgusting and smelled like mold and feces. One of the dirtiest good will stores I ever been too. They need to revamp these good will stores and make it more appealing for customers to shop. Not to mention it was 95 degrees outside and in the store the AC was not woking at all it was completly off!! The had the workers woking in hot conditions and the air in their was unbearalble to breath.

Super disappointing donation experience today. Waited outside the donation doors for 5 minutes for someone to come out and couldn’t find anyone to help with donating or to provide a receipt. Decided to circle back after stopping into the store & still no one outside to help us.

Hours for donating are good- Saturday they are opened until 4pm.
Would be helpful if the donation hours were posted on Google but you can look up the store and donation hours on the goodwill website.
The guys who take the donations are great. But there is usually a pretty good line to donate… expect to wait a few minutes to get your stuff picked up.

I wouldn't donate here but I did find a Janome 3160QDC that seemed brand new for $25 so that's enough to make up for the huge disorganization and weird pricing.Update as of 2024: have not found anything worth buying for a while. It seems anything good is getting moved to the online shop so not worth going into the store to see the trash anymore.

Dirty, messy, the worst Goodwill I've been to.

My grandmother dropped off some items at this location a few days ago. The employees threw the boxes of items, which contained brand new items including glass and other fragile pieces. It was clear that things were breaking and they were taking no caution. So disappointing

I visit this Goodwill often (usually weekly), but it's not my favorite and by far not the best. The store employees are great and friendly, but the store is usually a mess. It's extremely disorganized. The racks are often pretty bare OR so crammed that you can't push the hangers to look through the items. There are lots of items out of place, falling off hangers, or on the floor. They often have 3-5 new racks, which is where I head first. The employees are relaxed and don't mind if you look through the new stuff as they are putting them out. If you like hard goods, there's usually 6-10 shopping carts full, and they don't mind if you dig through them. It seems lately they are trying to reorganize the store, but they still have a long way to go. My biggest complaint is they have NO restrooms (which seems to be the case at all Goodwill Chesapeake locations). I am unsure if they ever had restrooms before the pandemic, or just decided to not reopen them. Their lack of restrooms is one of the reasons I choose to avoid Goodwill Chesapeake locations because I usually thrift for 3-4+ hours at a time. It's annoying having to leave and come back. A lot of the local competitors such as 2nd Avenue, Prime Thrift, Red White & Blue, and Goodwill of Greater Washington all have bathrooms for customers. So if I have a lot of time to shop, I usually go there instead. Kinda a once a week or every two weeks for me store now until they improve. I have found some nice items though that I really like, and their prices are lower than some other stores in the area, so that keeps me coming back for now.

Super high prices for what they have. $8+ for every dress, no matter the brand or shape it is in. Shein dresses that would be $10 new are 8-10 here. Stuff with loose seams or missing buttons? Also $8+. They have markers on the racks for sizes, but no attempt has been made to keep the smalls in the small section, mediums in medium section, etc. Also, there was women's stuff on whole racks of the men's section, men's stuff on entire racks of the children's section. Super unorganized. Some of the new merchandise that they have multiples up in the front was Family Dollar quality at twice the price you'd find it retail.Thought I would have better luck in housewares. There was more blank shelf space than there was merchandise. I won't be going back.
