“It's not Wegmans, but Wegmans is far away. It is by far the best supermarket in the immediate area. They have much more variety than giant, and Safeway and TJ. The day before Thanksgiving. I tried to find heavy cream all over the place. Everyone was out. To my mind that is mismanagement because obviously many people are gonna be looking for heavy cream at the last minute. Harris Teeter thought of that and had plenty of cream. When I got there in midday, there were actually multiple people there getting cream. I know this doesn't sound like much, but it is the place to go when everybody else is out. Also, it demonstrates that they are actually thinking about you, whereas the other stores are just grinding out corporate habits. They also had Yukon Gold potatoes. All the other stores said they did but they were really just yellow potatoes. Yukon golds are by far the best potatoes for mashed potatoes. You may believe russets are the best, but ask any high-end chef, and I'll tell you that it's really all about Yukon golds. Nobody, but Wegmans carried them. Everybody else was out or just told me that they're yellow potatoes are Yukon golds, which is completely wrong. They are people are knowledgeable. I've never been misguided in there, although they have so much stuff to choose from, I would hate to be somebody who just arrived from Russia, and was trying to find things in Harris Teeter. " 500 different soaps? We only have three in Russia."Let's say you want to just get something simple like a frozen pizza. They have a much wider selection than the other stores. They are meats are fine. Their produce is fine, but if you really care a lot about that you should go to Wegmans,, Costco, or the over priced Whole Foods. If you want to save a lot of money, you could do your most basic shopping at Aldi's and then go to Harris Teeter for things where a store brand won't do. All these has almost no variety so it isn't very good as the main store. it's best as doing the El cheapo basics and then use Harris Teeter as your main store. There's also a very good beer and wine store across the street.”

“This is an update!!!!!! I was not aware that the owners had another management team come in and do their jobs correct. What I mean is they ID'D me just as there suppose to no matter what and I had an attitude because I always come in there and expect them to remember me SUPER selfish move by me. I come in every 2 days just to say hi and support MY neighborhood busniess that I grew up around for my entire life. On my last review I said I would never come back and that lasted about 1 day as I will never go to another beer wine and spirits store ever I'm attached to them. I came in on February 11th @ 4:00 PM and the same woman I had a problem with that day was there and we both apologized to each other oh and she took great care of me because of the last matter which I deeply appreciate her! as I feel really bad but just like best friends you fight and make up there doing a GREAT job and I have much respect for the owners AND there pup I love that little boy I wish them much success and will see you in 2 days to buy another 40 oz hahaha c ya!”
“This is my favorite grocery store. I think one of the places I chose to recently move to I chose because it was close to this Safeway! It has great staff and great deli meat too. Andy is a great manager. It feels like family here and that's what a grocery store should always be like. Very helpful and kind. And CLEAN.”
“Harris teeter has a wide selection of groceries very similar to costco. The brands can range from mid-high quality with more of an emphasis on mid point pricing and quality. They have lots of food categories and aisles to browse, including a live cheese section. Staff is on hand to help but sometimes self-check out can be broken.”

The owner was able to adeptly give me my shipping options and recommendations of best choice for my needs. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Same cost as going to the actual post office without the headache. Bonus: MUCH better hours than the regular post office, so no more speeding out of work like a bat out of hell to make the 5pm cutoff.”
“This Giant ran out of space for canned cat food in the pet food aisle so they put it all with the clearance next to the warehouse door. This is misleading because everything else is on clearace. There is nothing indicating that it is not on clearance. Nothing in the cat food aisle indicating the cans are in the clearance section. Also there are no price self-check machines, except 1 where the hand-held scanners are. Otherwise large, well-stocked store. Get member card and add electronic coupons, if you hit 100 pts you get $1 toward next purchase.”
