As a state employee I was interested in having a portion of my paycheck sent to SECU. Unfortunately, after 2 virtual appointments and two in person appointments at the Derwood location no one at SECU was able to set up this service. I asked to speak to a a manager but the receptionist told me there was no manager. Really? No manager?! If you value your money do not bank with SECU.

Greetings. I would like to express how great your associate, Jakea Sultana is. She walked me through the steps of being a SECU Member and was very professional. My Wife has been a member of SECU for years and now I’m a member. Thanks again Jakea. Keep up the great work.Today, Jakea helped my Wife and I complete our Settlement purchase for our Home in Pennsylvania. She also took the time to cover my Credit Report and provided guidance on how I can continue improving my scores.Jakea demonstrates true customer service satisfaction. Had a great experience with this location. They were friendly and competent opening up a new account for me. They answered all the questions I had and took ample time to ensure I was satisfied. I have been with SECU for over 20 years and have not had a problem.

When I actually need to go inside, the staff are always very helpful. Today I was able to get a new ATM card and waited less than ten minutes. When we needed to refinance our old house, the process was quick and easy. I've been very happy since switching all of my banking to SECU.

I applied home equity line of credit. It took less than 4 weeks for whole process and rate under 4%. Excellent service.

Friendly staff and efficient operation. I am still getting used to videoscreen tellers.Updated review to include the false assurance my wife and I were given about the acceptance of a stamp by the US Treasury. I was sure that the stamp rhey were able ro provide was insufficient. We were told that Treasury told the branch that the alternative stamp was fine. Due to the misinformation, we were unable to open an account in time to purchase a bond in calender year 2022. I had to go to NFCU to get the correct stamp. Too bad the rejection and recertification led to almost a month wasted.

The staff in this office is very incompetent and indifference in providing transparent service, and possibly the whole SECU corporation is full of incompetent people . They messed up my car loan, with a wrong car made/model/VIN on my car loan, and added $4K on insurance on the wrong car to my loan, and increased my monthly payments. I made much efforts to correct this issue with the staff in this office, and to no avail. I spent a lot of time on the phone and in-person with them, then they stone-walled me. I have to hire an attorney to resolve this. Just as I thought this was resolved, then a default notice on the wrong car came in my mail.

Ive never really had a positive experience with SECU MD. I don’t want to continue with this bank but I cannot leave because of an account issue. I can’t even get in touch with anyone virtually, whether on the mobile app, over the phone or on the computer. They’ve charged crazy amounts of fees, caused me to be in severe overdraft, and moved money around between my accounts. I just want to be called back so I can pay my debt and cancel this service with this institution. I’ve never felt so neglected by an institution. I just want some resolution.

Don't ever bank with this credit union. They rejected my stimulas check and try to lie and said they thought a company was trying to take money out of my account. This doesn't make any sense, when I've gotten deposits with the same amounts before. Be aware people, this credit union is very bias and they are scammers. They have bad customer service, plus I'm going to shut down my account with them asap. Then the manager had no empathy and was like it's not there fault they rejected my money and I have to call IRS. I hope SECU goes out of business for their dishonesty.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that I don't like the video tellers. If I go to the trouble of going inside, it's because I want to see a person. I'd have gone to the ATM otherwise. Also, once when I went in for vacation cash, I was given 50s & 100s without being asked if big bils were OK. (They weren't.)

I was shocked when the tellers disappeared and were replaced by what appeared to be ATM's but were actually video tellers. They are pretty cool. I got my car loan from SECU. It was cheaper than Educational Systems FCU. The whole loan process only took about 15 minutes. Couldn't have been better. Thanks SECU.

Long time member but they are horrible keeping things consistent. Why go through the drive through to deposit checks from my employer that ive had no issues with before then have me go inside to verify i work there.......
