“I cannot applaud enough for the founders of this organization and their team who make it possible for the community to receive such excellent care, regardless of their financial standing. When times are incredibly challenging, making it almost impossible for a lot, if not most families to financially care for their beloved pets, Promise Animal League offers a saving grace.

They have been there for our furry family for everything from a kitten neuter, to canines with recurrent UTI’s, to extensive bloodwork and testing to confirm a liver shunt diagnosis, to saving the life of a kitten who honestly was not likely to survive the day he was found.

The staff (techs/assistants) are so well informed/experienced and even with the day in and day out long, thankless hours they commit to their passion they have never displayed burn out or compassion fatigue in my presence. If they did I would give them the space to do so because goodness knows they’re allowed to be human too. They have repeatedly shown me empathy, kindness and patience even directly after having dealt with difficult and disrespectful clients. As someone who used to work in the veterinary field, a spay neuter program and emergency veterinary medicine I have the utmost respect and the highest level of gratitude to everyone there.

Dr. Flaggs has never let us down and has continued to show up for our animals. Thank you so much for sharing your skills and your commitment to quality affordable veterinary care for our community.

To those who created PAL, you know who you are and I have always and will always strive to align myself with your level of commitment and compassion to animals in need.

The procedures for appointments, treatments and surgeries at Promise are different than most other brick and mortar reg vet med hospitals but it does NOT in any way impact the quality of care. You need to be prepared and content with waiting your turn as the facility is working as effectively as they can given their overburden of work.

“Love the North Paws crew! Dr. Becker has been wonderful with my little Senegal parrot and Dr. Smith made what is typically a very stressful visit with my spicy cat feel like an absolute breeze. Everyone I've interacted with has been so kind and gentle with my babies. I live in WV, but plan to switch all of my pets over to North Paws for their future veterinary needs. It's worth the drive!”

“the staff here are phenomenal! i recently brought my cat into their office to be cremated and taken care of and i am blown away by how easy the process was. the staff sent me a sympathy card, they were SO respectful on the phone when it was time to pick her back up. my mom had to pick akira up for me and she could not get over how kind and respectful they were to my cat and herself. i highly recommend their office if you need their cremation services, i seriously cannot put into words how kind, considerate, and respectful they were!”

“Last week my parents brought in my beloved Oreo. Unfortunately, discovered there was nothing that could be done and so I was brought in to say goodbye. Thank you to Dr. Mitchell and his kind and sensitive words he shared with me as me and my parents said goodbye to my most beloved companion. Him telling me that he could tell how loved Oreo is and how it was evident he loved me by how much he had calmed down when I arrived to say my goodbyes. Also thank you to the other staff and how genuinely kind you all were on probably the worst day of my life. Thank you for how much care you gave to my boy in his last moments. Thank you for the sympathy card and thank you for bringing my boy back home to me when his ashes were picked up today by my father. My heart is still so heavy from losing my Oreo, but I do appreciate you all doing what you do for families and their beloved animals.”

“The reason why I take my pets to Boonsboro Veterinarian Hospital is because, unlike a lot of Vet's in WV (where I live), they don't make you sit around all day waiting to get your pet examined, they'll fit you in, and check out your pet, and let you know if it's a serious problem, or not.

They seem to be professional, and a valid Veterinarians, at Boonsboro Veterinarian Hospital, both times that I've used them I've been Pleased with them.”
