About Glen Echo Park
Glen Echo Park is a fine cultural resource and a fun, unique place in the Washington, DC area. This vintage former amusement park is now a public and free recreation area with a lovely setting among the trees. It is home to resident artists and organizations, including a children's theater, a glass studio, several pottery studios, art galleries, and an amazing little aquarium. Vestiges of the amusement park remain, including a restored 1921 Dentzel Carousel and the magnificent Spanish Ballroom, which is one of the better places to social dance. The park offers hundreds of classes in visual and performing arts and is full of creative energy, with vintage architecture, art deco touches, and bright murals providing a perfect backdrop. Visitors can enjoy free summer concerts, festivals, and special events. It is a great place for a weekend excursion, an enjoyable afternoon exploring exhibits, a picnic, or a photoshoot, appealing to those into art, photography, or just somewhere different and inspiring to spend a day.
Really charming and fun place to visit. The park has a great artistic vibe with galleries, studios, and historic buildings. It’s nice for a relaxed walk and there are often events or activities going on. Great spot to spend some time outdoors and enjoy something a bit different.

Fantastic park with many activities for the community.

One of the better places to dance, if you're coming from VA it's just after the bridge meaning you've only got to deal with a little bit of that terrible traffic.
