Total, complete, thorough hair care. I went in to get a weave and got my hair washed, conditioned, steamed, blow-dried, trimmed and weaved, all for the price quoted for the weave. She listened to what I wanted and did a great job with a weave that feels secure enough to keep in for 3 months. This was my first time and I won't go anywhere else in the future. Andrea has a new client for life! Lol.

Weaves By Andrea!!! Andrea is extremely professional and courteous. I found her at her previous location and followed her to the Hyattsville location and started taking my mom too. We both looked forward to her services even though we were not among her weave clients. Our hairdos were always first rate in every respect. I was amazed as I watched the weave clients leave looking fierce. Unfortunately, my work schedule and my mom's schedule changed and thus the ONLY reason we have not visited recently. No nonsense and no overbooking with Andrea. You must be on time as she WILL NOT allow her schedule or clients to be inconvenienced. She takes her profession serious. I endorse her business wholeheartedly without any reservations. Michele Berry

Andrea has been the most talented weave installer since I first went to her in 2003. Speaking to my most recent visit August 2021, she continues to deliver full-service hair care for the best value that you won't find anywhere else. She still offers, hair wash, weave take-down, condition and deep condition as part of her weave installs and this is very hard to find. She makes sure your scalp is healthy and refuses to do you hair without making sure the health of your scalp and hair is catered to. I highly recommended. I've attached a couple photos of my natural hair (in pink) and then my natural part weave (small amount of my hair is left out at the top) installed by Andrea, one with a small headband on and the other with 2 other girls and I have on a polka dot shirt.Services: Hairstyling

Andrea is an amazing stylist. I really can't say enough about her. I lived in the area years ago and she was my go to stylist. I had years of bad experience ,mediocre experience, found her and couldn't have been happier. After being away for 8 years I wasn't sure if would be able to find her again. I did, same location same contact. I was so glad that she nor her work had changed. I love Andrea because her suite space is clean, she uses quality products, she doesn't overbook, her services are completely spelled out and there's never any guessing game. Her work is impeccable. As long as I'm here I'll be a client.

Andrea is UH-MAZING!!! This is hands down the BEST hair experience I have ever had in my life!!! She really knows what she's doing. She works quickly and, not only did my hair come out beautiful, but my scalp also feels so clean and hydrated. I went in for a sew-in with minimal leave out, but Andrea really took the the time to care for my natural hair before she braided it down. If you are looking for someone who knows their stuff about true hair care, Andrea is the perfect stylist for you. I will definitely be back every single time I'm in the DC area!

Going to a hair salon to get my hair done has never really been my favorite thing to do. My experience with Andrea was so pleasant that I will be a return client. For those who don't know how to find her (I got lost and asked for directions from a stranger I ran into- apparently many people have issues finding the salon), she is located in the "Salon Plaza". Use the elevator in building 2970 (LA fitness/Chelsea school building) to get to the elevator. Go to the 2nd floor, come out, make a left, and go down the long hallway until you get to the parking garage. Then walk around to your right (you should pass the up hill garage entrance) and you'll see the entrance to Salon Plaza. Andrea was so attentive and nice. She has a room to herself where she provides her hair services. It was peaceful, I felt like my hair was given the attention it needed, and I left with a beautiful sew-in. She is fantastic!

I wish I could give Andrea 10 stars! I had permed, damaged hair when i moved to the DC area. I just knew I wasn't going to be able to find anyone that could properly do my hair or nurse it back to health. I made the decision to stop getting perms and go natural. I didn't want to do a big chop AT ALL, so i went to Andrea to help me. Best decision ever. She deep conditioned, steamed, trimmed and pressed my hair for a whole 2 years, cutting off the perm hair bit by bit, while maintaining the length. Now, i am completely natural, with THICK, healthy hair! She REALLY knows how to work with natural hair and get hair straight like a relaxer, without damaging your curl pattern (not sure how either, I'm sure its magic). She also is very open and honest about the condition of your hair, whether or not you REALLY need a trim and what steps you need to take once you leave the shop to maintain the look. I love Andrea and I recommend everyone with natural or relaxed hair to go to her. Make sure you book in advance because her calendar can fill up quickly.

I kinda wanna be stingy and not let ya'll know how ridiculously wonderful Andrea really is, but I couldn't let that bogus review fly. No offense, but the lady with the bad review must have had issues she never voiced or made a ton of cancellations. If you cancel a lot w/ any stylist, you can't expect the warm and fuzzy treatment. It's called respecting their time and it goes both ways. Andrea is quick and her skills are comprehensive. She's always booked and always has a waiting list. First weave I ever had where no one even questioned whether it was my hair! I literally had to show my mom where the tracks were! Her press and curl is even better than my Dominican swag when my hair was relaxed. Awesome sauce! I heart Andrea. I am currently on summer hiatus and regretting my decision. But I will be stalking her book for the next opening I can find.

Let me start this review off by saying: Andrea does a great job installing weaves. She believes in hair care and knows how to work with natural hair. These are the reasons why I went to her and solely her, for about 2 years for my weave installs. For her work, and her work alone, she would get 5- stars, but unfortunately she has a personality and business ethic that warrants 1-star. She's located in a hair salon plaza in Hyattsville across the street from P.G. Mall. Its a bit challenging trying to locate. I recall my first appointment. Andrea gave me the address and left me to my own devices on finding it. I tried calling her. No answer. I was lost walking around for about 30 minutes before I found the place. It didn't matter, because she was 45 minutes late herself. The good thing about this location is: There's free parking! The actual salon is more like a studio. Imagine a small room with a door, but no roof. Andrea fits two hooded dryers, her chair, and a shampoo bowl in the space. Due to the missing roof, you can hear other hair stylists conversing with their clients, even over the sound of the small TV Andrea has playing in the corner. Her prices are affordable. She charges about $230 to remove and install a new weave with a natural part. Most in DMV charge $300 or more. Now let's talk about Andrea the person, the stylist, and businesswoman. She's not friendly. She doesn't talk to you. Her customer service skills are seriously lacking. Allow me to be blunt - she has NONE! At first, I had no problem with this. My attitude: I don't need another GF. I just need a stylist. But allow me to explain how someone in the service industry who lacks customer service skills can lead to an issue for their customers. She has an online scheduling system that allows clients the ability to schedule or cancel appointments. Naively, I thought her easy-to-use system was a feature she afforded her clients as a benefit to them, making appointments any time (day or night) easy. I've since learned the system is her veil. It benefits her, too. She doesn't have to engage with you. The system does all of that for her. Allow me to explain. If she doesn't want you to have an appointment after you've booked with her for whatever reason - Andrea, a caribbean island native, doesn't have to call you. Absent the system, this introvert would have to engage with you. With it, she can just cancel your appointment. The system will email you to inform you that your appointment is canceled. No conversation needed. But then you're left wondering like I have - why is my appointment canceled, and you, like I, will pick up the phone to call or text her to which she doesn't respond, and you're left wondering what went wrong. That about sums up where Andrea and I are now. Andrea has OCD. She is not one of those stylists who waits until she's finished a client before she'll start cleaning. No. After she combs, she sweeps. After she blow dries, she sweeps. After she cuts, she sweeps. Her need for everything to remain spotless and in place will lengthen your appointment time. Andrea fired her assistant. This sweet young lady managed to work for her for years. She said she let her go, because people complained she didn't wash their hair well. That didn't make sense to me, because this girl was one of the best hair washers I've ever had. I think Andrea got jealous of the girl, because people would tip her as much, if not more, than Andrea, as she did the lion share of the work. Absent an assistant, your weave installs no longer take 4-5 hrs, they take 6-7 hrs. Beginning this year, she began overlapping appointments and this continued after she fired her assistant, so I'd often have to sit and wait for another client who was getting another service to be completed before I got into her chair. Andrea is very heavy handed. You'll need to have a high tolerance for pain or she&
