“WOW!!!......... just, wow. I got nothin'. This is an absolute GEM of Southern Maryland!! While I am indeed now a resident of Calvert County, I've spent the vast majorly of my life (30+ years) in Baltimore. I've never just perused around a butcher shop with half-cows chillin' and hanging out before. Yes, all pun intended. My girlfriend and I stopped in for some FREE eggs, yet somehow I left there 40 minutes, and $80 later, with venison bologna, sausages, and a bit of new knowledge and understanding from where my meat comes, and how it is butchered. I waited until after we ate the meats before posting a review and I'm glad that I did. OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS!!!! It's 6 stars for this rating, 5 stars for everything you'd want in a butcher shop. Then, another for going above and beyond, sharing with us what is most obviously a labor of love. Thank you so much!!!!”
“This is a very beautiful farmstead! I recently came to attend a class they were offerring on learning about making skin cream from tallow. Mooialpha conducted the class. The class, was fantastic ! I did not get a tour of the farm. I was just there for the class. The farmstead has a farmstore. . I stopped into get my favorite cheese! The farm store had a very nice collection of beautiful handmade articles made by dfferent artisans, a nice cillection of books and a refrigerated section of meats , cheeses and goat products. The customer service was great too! I would definitely recommend this farmstead!”
“I definitely miss the old Bowen’s Grocery, but it’s nice to see that a lot of the place still feels the same even with the new name. They’ve kept the local, small-town feel that people have always liked about it. If you stop by the deli, I highly recommend the Firecracker sandwich it’s one of the best things on the menu.”
