“I stop in daily or at least 4 times a week to get what ever meat or seafood I need to use for dinner. There fresh rock fish has been really good the past few times I have had it they had farm raised but the fish is back in season. I also like their huge selection of liquor and wines.”
“The staff at Dunkirk Safeway, including the management, cashiers, deli, meat/seafood department and pharmacy, is very friendly and willing to help customers. The store is neat and well-stocked. The manager is often seen out on the floor or in various departments assuring that shelves are well stocked and that things are running smoothly.”
“I have lived in Dunkirk for over 30years and in the first week of October my husband passed away.Things have changed drastically and have been very difficult for me. Sheryl was my cashier and I had told her that my husband usually was the one that did our grocery shopping; but he wasn't with us anymore and I was feeling overwhelmed and out of my element. I shared with her that this was my 2nd time grocery shopping for myself. She was so kind and understanding of my situation. Sheryl even offered her condolences for my dear Samuel. Her kind smile and conversation brightened my day. Thank you. I will continue to shop with Harris Teeter. I see why my Samuel loved to shop here.”
“Fast in and out. Stock had been hit or miss with infant needs, but very good overall. In stock has greatly improved. Still fast service. Pick up is the easiest way to have a quick visit.”

“Terrific group of employees make shopping here not such a chore. I’m always greeted with pleasant attitudes, offers to assist above/beyond the “just doing my job & nothing extra” mentality of some businesses.The beautiful lady who’s usually at the first register (Claudia) is very professional. What I appreciate most is her genuine kindness & attentiveness. We always have a little conversation while she’s doing her job flawlessly & she pays attention to things about my items that I may not have noticed which helps to avoid disappointments afterwards. Multitasking at it’s finest!!”
“What happened to the candy aisle? I guess we have outlawed most candy except for the kids to grab at checkout. Typical Safeway, nothing special was looking for a dinner option because I was visiting but unless it was a sandwich or sushi. Nothing jumped into my basket.”
“We visited Flagship Cinemas - great local movie theatre! Excellent selection, prices (especially Super Tuesdays!), and staff. ONLY downside is no hotdogs at the concession stand.”
“Only reason there's not 5 is their self checkouts are buggy. The produce department here is where I go when I don't have the farm stand. All winter long it stays fresh and looks great. Smaller but good looking meat department as well.”
“Clean organized. great location. staff is kind. shelvers/stockers are nice. Parking lot a bit dirty but wind happens. Prices are fair. And the selection of items is amazing! Literally everything you need quickly is here.”
“I only get to Giant when I'm visiting Maryland, where my daughter lives we spend an average amount for a family of 5 when we visit, but were Chef's so we like to cook, but the staff is kind. The store seems to have given everything a grocery chian should, prices or different in other areas?”
“This is 1st time I have been to the Prince Frederick Giant. It's much bigger than the one in California, Maryland. I was very impressed with the store & with Customer Service for Pick-Up. I went into the store because I had forgotten to get some fruit. It was a beautiful display of various kinds of fruits & vegetables. The Chiquita Bananas are my favorite. I also got some nectarines but was sadly disappointed. I'll have to wait until the summer when they are in season. The Green seedless grapes are good. Next time I will try the variety pack with green & red grapes together. I enjoyed my grocery shopping experience at this store.”
“I love the misspellings on the pumps. It reminds me that gas station attendants are people too. I misspelled a text once, and needless to say, it’s a lot less sexy when you tell someone that you love the smell of their “excrement” instead of shirt. Misspellings happen.”
“My experience with pharmacies, for the most part, has been routine however, I have had some pretty negative experiences after having several major surgeries due the beginning of the opioid crisis and bias based on my demographic. All understandable, but unfortunate for me at the time. The pharmacist and her staff at Safeway are fast, helpful, and kind under normal circumstances but are always willing to go above and beyond when the situation calls for it. Meaning, they don’t just present you with a problem and leave you to resolve it, they care about helping you find solutions and help you deal with insurance companies that don’t like to pay for anything.”
