“I’ve been taking my dog Gizmo to Village Vet of Urbana for over a year now. The staff is incredibly kind to my little man and I’m always so grateful for their care, especially having a senior dog and constantly having concerns about his well being. I never feel rushed during appointments and pricing is fair and reasonable. The vets are always prompt with calling about any lab results, even normal ones, so I feel reassured that my dog is being cared for. I love bringing my dog here and I know he is in good hands with the team at this vet practice.”

“Our pets have received care at Glade Valley since 2018. Some of the staff have been there longer than we have, which speaks to the culture and climate. Many of them have pets and draw from their experiences to provide empathetic care for pets and their families. We weathered many changes together, including COVID pandemic, because of their innovative approaches. Over the years, they have maintained a strong community network to help us connect to surgeons, a animal vision specialist, end of life care for our 14 year companion, boarding and grooming services, and nutrition support. They’ve evaluated the care and services that they provide and how to best meet patients’ needs with available resources. In addition to remodeling the reception area, they upgraded their digital patient care system and portal. Durng that time, they trained staff in shifts around prescheduled service, as not to disrupt the flow and provision of care. Their actions demonstrate a willingness to grow, an understanding that some needs extend beyond their facilities’ capacity, and that families in distress need a place to turn. In so doing, they demonstrate genuine commitment and compassion. They’ve kept in touch with a local vibe, even in the midst of construction and traffic expansion in the surrounding community. My family is grateful!”

“I honestly can’t say enough good things about Frederick Veterinary Center. I was a brand-new patient and they were able to get my injured dog in the same day. From the beginning, the treatment was extremely conservative and I never once felt pressured into tests, services, or spending money unnecessarily.
Dr. Hooman Pooya was absolutely wonderful. He took so much time explaining everything to me—not just what was going on with my injured dog, but why flea, tick, and heartworm prevention is so important in Maryland, the importance of the leptospirosis vaccine and how it can even spread to humans, and the different prevention options at different price points. He even took the time to talk through options for getting my other dog, who is extremely fearful and skittish, into the office safely and with as little stress as possible.
I was actually hesitant to come here at first because there were SO many good reviews, and now I completely understand why. I’m almost hesitant to leave another one because I kind of want to keep this place to myself! I was genuinely blown away by the entire experience and will 100% be bringing my dogs here from now on.”

“I’ve been bringing all my cats here for years. I lost one of my senior cats in 2021 and my 2nd senior cat in January of this year. Both times the staff from the doctors to the office staff were so incredibly compassionate. I never felt rushed, I felt like they gave me all the time in the world to sit with my furbabies and say my goodbyes before, during and after the process. Every one was so kind. I now have a younger cat and 1 remaining senior cat. My younger cat is very anxious and afraid of life. But every time we go in they handle him so well and get him through it. I can’t say enough about the staff. Everyone is incredibly helpful and friendly.”

“Neighborhood Veterinary Associates (NVA) has cared for my 6-year-old Boston Terrier since he was a puppy, and I can’t say enough good things about them. When he showed signs of an ear infection, I booked a next-day sick visit online with no hassle. They diagnosed it quickly and got him treated right away—he felt better fast. The team is kind, thorough, and never pushy. It’s obvious they genuinely know and care about their patients.”
“They may not be the cheapest place around, but the limited staff is the same staff that always sees your pup. So for someone like me that is at the vet at least 10 times a year they are great with her. They know her name, personality and now that they are letting owners back into the office with the pets I can truly see how much she loves them when she arrives.”

“Yellow Springs is always welcoming and happy to see our pets. They're very knowledgeable but explain everything in ways that make it easy for pet parents to understand. I feel like they haven't steered us wrong or tried to push anything unnecessary on us, only tried to do what's best for our furry kids. We've been patients for 3 years and will continue to be so.
Edit to say we've now had an extensive procedure done and I had complete confidence in the provider/team taking care of my girl. They answered any and all questions I had and checked on us periodically after her procedure to make sure she was okay. Their compassion and expertise really shines in everything they do!”
