“It began to snow on our way home so we decided to stay here for the night. There is a very “nostalgic” feel with how the rooms are set up. The room was clean with no visible staining. Unfortunately the bed sheets are thinner than a hospital blanket and do not retain much heat. The sink drain also didn’t work the best. The convenience of checking in at 1am was much appreciated.”

“Our group of 4 stayed here on our first night of the GAP ride. Everything was fantastic and I'd definitely return for another visit anytime I ride the GAP. Jason's place was easy to find, plenty of space to store bikes and gear with maintenance spaces to make some adjustments. The rooms were super clean, spacious and comfortable. Inside the house was large to lounge around but we mostly enjoyed the backyard after the ride by the fire with some local pizza and a dip in the hot tub. Jason's breakfast was fantastic and the fresh coffee was exactly what we needed before hitting the trail to the top of the divide. Communication was great leading up the stay - his hosting was top notch. Give him a visit and take advantage of this bike and shuttle services.”

“Can’t beat the price, and the man who checked us in was very nice. The doors lock with a normal key, and there was no deadbolt or chain lock on the door, which was a bit unsettling. That said, we didn’t feel unsafe in the location.”

“We stayed in The Monk Room. The place is beautiful. We didn’t mind but if you can’t walk up three flights of stairs you may want to stay on the lower level. I would definitely recommend this place.”

“This historic hotel is definitely worth a visit, especially if you're coming off the great Allegheny passage trail. You can wind down and dine, grab some beverages or go to the brewery nearby, then relax in your room and an excellent coffee bar in the lobby in the morning. Highly recommendWalkability: Frostburg has a nice downtown main Street with many restaurants and breweries and of course the old hotel”

“The room was decent and clean, but the bathtub was clogged. The workers were a little rude. We went to get breakfast 5 minutes before it ended which was 10am. There was still food in the breakfast area and a lady said we couldn’t have any. The same person followed us to the exercise room. She kicked me and my cousins out of the gym assuming we weren’t 18. The sign with the rules outside the door said “under 18 must be accompanied by an adult” me and my cousin were adults accompanying our other cousins who are 2 years younger than us. She changed the rule and said the minors need to be accompanied by a parent. The pool is opaque and murky. It’s very tiny so all of us couldn’t move around without bumping into each other, and the deepest end is 4 feet. For breakfast the only options were eggs, waffles, one type of stale cereal from a dispenser, and moldy muffins. It would’ve been nice if they had sausage, bacon, hash browns, omelettes, chocolate chips and whipped cream for the waffles. we told the lady about the muffin and she had an attitude.imagine not supporting physical activity for young people, and not feeding the hungry especially after customers pay a lot of money for one night.the only good thing about this place is the cranberry juice”

“Great place to stay for C&O canal bikers. The hotel is bike friendly and allow you to bring your bike and gear into the room. The location is just a couple of blocks from the start of the canal. The rooms are decent for the price point. Bathroom is nice and clean. Toiletries include dove soap and shampoo products which felt really good.”
