“I want to start by saying that Reid Temple AME played a significant role in a very personal chapter of my life. I came to the church not because I was raised in religion—I wasn’t. I didn’t grow up in the church, and I wasn’t brought up through traditional Christian practices. But something drew me in.
When I chose to get baptized at Reid Temple, it was about more than ceremony—it was about cleansing. It was about releasing hurt, pain, and confusion I had absorbed from people I thought were walking with me. That moment allowed me to reclaim myself and reconnect with the Creator within me.
I realize now that my connection to God, to Jesus (in all forms and representations), and to spirit doesn’t have to come from being in a church building. It comes from the journey I’m walking as a creative, empathetic, and spiritually-sensitive individual.
Reid Temple helped me discover that. Not necessarily through the sermons or systems, but through the emotional energy exchanged, the people I encountered, and the community that formed online.
However, I’ve also realized I no longer desire to be part of any church institution. This isn’t a rejection of faith, but a redirection of it. My spiritual journey is personal, unconventional, and deeply rooted in creativity, emotion, and authenticity.
To anyone looking for a place to start their spiritual healing or self-reflection, Reid Temple may offer that spark. Just know that every journey is different. For me, it was a place that opened the door—but not the destination.
I walk with God now, freely.
And for that moment of awakening, I say thank you, Reid Temple AME.”

“Lovely clean church. It's very small and absolutely darling. The entrance is just gorgeous. A little hard to find parking but it's Google Map navigation, nothing to do with the church itself. I ended up doing a few circles until I found parking at the Church school.
I am not religious but had to go there for my best friend's mom's funeral. The priest was very young and seemed just a little disconnected and robatic when delivering his readings and prayers. He might have just come out of Seminary school. Everything comes with experience. Other than that he was fine.
Staff was very curteous and kind.”
“A wonderful congregation of diverse people who think for themselves, study scripture, worship with passion and serve the community in many ways. Open to all. Great leadership by Pastor Sara Nave-Fisher and others !”
“I love Zion! Their ministries, members, and classes. They make it their mission not only to teach you on Sundays but in every ministry, outreach event, and with their “equip university” for teaching you about the Bible, God and yourself. This church is truly a blessing in more ways than one.”
