“I give them 5 stars because the manager at the pharmacy and Lisa and another young lady who’s been there forever are wonderful. What I’d give a ZERO star to is management above them , they give them no help . When You only have one pharmacist and one Tech to fill prescriptions, give shots, answer the phone , answer questions and input all info in the computer is insane . That’s called abusing folks , it’s totally unacceptable. Yesterday two of them tried doing everything , they never once got mad , continued to apologize and it was no fault of there’s they have no help . Come on Giant corporate stop abusing and using your people ?.”

“For all of you that go to CVS and Walgreens and are frustrated with long lines, long wait times for prescription fills or refills, poor communication, or just bad customer service, you must make ALLENTOWN DISCOUNT PHARMACY your #1 pharmacy. Most times, they will call you upon receiving your prescription, fill it within an hour, call and let you know when it is filled. If it is an automatic refill, no problem. They will call to let you know that a refill is about to take place and then call you again when it is ready. Howard, the owner is very knowledgeable and super friendly. He managed the #1 Walgreens years ago before Walgreens' service took a dive. Howard is genuinely concerned about his customers and wants to help. Please give this pharmacy a try and let me know through Google reviews if you have a similar experience. I drive from Upper Marlboro to Clinton just to receive this superb experience. I understand that this is not a long drive. My point is that I pass several CVS and Walgreens just to come here.”

I had a long shopping list that included ingredients for several recipes at my last visit and had a hard time finding everything (not too many floating employees on a Sunday), but I did manage to find everything on my list! I’m finally getting the hang of the app, self checkout and remembering to bring in my bags (not yet a habit since I’ve lived 7+ decades without needing to remember to carry in bags)!”

“I've been shopping here since it was a Super Giant. There's probably few people remaining around here that know or even remember what that was. It's always been a good store. Since it was downsized many years ago from the Super Giant to a regular Giant it's a bit on the small size by today's standards, with not as big a selection as other stores, but it also makes it much easier to navigate and get in and out of. The store is clean, well stocked, and the people working there have always been super nice and helpful.”
“The regular lines were several people long, but the self-checkout had no wait. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. In general, I like this store. They keep it organized, clean, and stocked. When there has been a problem, the employees have been nice and helpful.

TL:DR - Hiring process is crap and annoying to deal with, Hispanic section is good, and their donuts are AMAZING.
Come here AT LEAST for the donuts, fr worth it.
8 of my friends (9 including me) never got any kind of response when we applied to work here, plus the managers always seemed to mysteriously unavailable to be spoken to.
I've literally called the store, got told to call back the next morning, called the next morning, "Manager on vacation" :/
when will they be back? " X date." Thanks so much.
Called back on X date, "She'll be here tomorrow morning" thanks.
Calls back tomorrow morning, "Hi, not here. Call again tomorrow morning."
At which point I came INTO THE STORE to speak with this elusive hiring manager, just to be told that they were on vacation and won't be back for a while.

So suffice to say, hiring process seems messy, outdated, unreliable, and flat out non-functional at times.
The website needs to be updated, the employees need proper customer service training because regardless of what I'm calling about, and who's answering, it's always in a tone that sounds like I might aswell be interrupting a neurosurgeon mid incision.
The only redeeming quality of this store is what it sells, and I'm not talking standard groceries.
Not only does Shoppers have a decent spread of hispanic foods, ingredients, drinks & snacks, but it's also got some of, if not THE BEST donuts you could buy from a store.
The donut chains like Dunkin or Krispy Kreme got nothing on SFW donuts, they got Croissant donuts (Cronuts), marble iced, Holland Creme (my favorite), jam filled, lemon pudding filled, boston creme, and of course all your standard donut types like powdered, brown sugar, plain and glazed, not to even mention some specialty ones they have on occasion like the apple pie filled brown sugar, or marbled icing cronuts.
Plus they're reasonably priced, which automatically raises the rating for me.

“Not to be dramatic but this pharmacy has single handedly improved the quality of my life by a million. Getting prescriptions filled by large pharmacies has been extremely frustrating and CaryRX has been made it so easy to transfer everything over from CVS. They are so communicative and knowledgeable when i have questions or a medication needs to be ordered and are available via chat within minutes so there are no long hold times. They have my medication delivered to my front door quicker than an Uber eats order and have worked with my insurance and suggested coupons to ensure I’m getting the best price available. I can’t say enough good things about this company and wholeheartedly recommend.”

“The young woman with the dog selling crystals was amazing. I had been receiving so much negative energy at work for weeks. I put the quartz she sold me in front of my laptop and all the negativity stopped! Anytime I have a Zoom meeting I just put that quartz between me and the screen and you can feel the vibrations change. Amazing. Her dog had a celestial aura and I'm growing my Chakra too. So grateful.”

“I’ve never used this pharmacy in person but my doctor sent a prescription over to be mailed. When I called to confirm my address the lady who answered the phone was very professional and even applied a coupon code which made my prescription that will have cost $77 completely free! I am very thankful she was able to even think to a coupon without me even having asking.”

They help with costs by applying coupons which I would not know about, and treat me like a valued customer. Even though I moved "across the river", I still use NP as my primary pharmacy.
