145 Bumble Bee Rd #2158, McHenryFood is 4 or 5 star depending on what you order, service was 2 star - definitely holding this place back a bit. Skiing at nearby Wisp, my son called to make a dinner reservation on a Saturday night and was told that they don't take reservations. We arrived to find out that they do take reservations and we now had to wait since we didn't have one. Party of six, it wasn't very busy and we waited for a little over half an hour while they seated a bunch of other folks (who maybe had reservations). The place is really nice, comfortable, and there was some live music setting up. My son has been there several times and recommended the wings. Plenty of beer on tap, wine, regular, and special soda as well. Service was slow at every point, water pitcher was delivered with fingers dipped inside which freaked out one of my other sons. The buffalo wings were really good, gotta be the best in this area. Most of the food was well above average, we had a salad ordered, that just never came, we reminded our server when the entrees arrived and it still never came. I ordered a French Dip and received their other steak sandwich, which they promptly replaced. Set your expectations for really untrained or incompetent service and go enjoy good food, beer, and music. Food always trumps service for me, so it's still 4 stars.
