“An exceptional experience at a fine institution. The proprietor Ed took care of us in a timely manner without lacking even the smallest attention to detail. We are visiting for the DC Mardi Gras and needed tuxedos last minute. Ed was very accommodating and his prices were so reasonable! We are leaving tomorrow and he even offered to pickup our clothes from the hotel for us. Wow! Great service, and will definitely be back next time in DC. Oh and he recommended Martin's Tavern for lunch, a local establishment, calling the manager to ensure we got in!”

“Not very good price transparency, but overall, I enjoyed my experience! I paid nearly $1,000 more dollars to get a "plus size" dress (yes, $1,000), but they did not tell me that was going to be the case. I guess when entering into a couture shop, price isn't talked about because its expected that you can pay. I am 180lbs, so I knew I needed fabric, but not that much more. It could also be according to the designer, so I can understand if communication can't be expected until final cost is calculated.This is more my own input for future brides: I definitely regret not paying for the two hour appointment. I am indecisive and needed extra time, but that's on me.My 90 minute appt went fast as they started a little late and I felt they asked too many questions to try and get the wedding "vibe." I appreciate that you are trying to imagine the vibe so the dress can look accordingly, but this shouldn't be more than 2-3minutes (time is of the essence, again).Also tip for brides: go in with people keeping your vision in mind. The staff member is very nice, but at the end of the day they are a sales person, and they are trying to make a sale. There are also a lot of voices going on because everyone is excited, so make sure no one convinces you of a vision that is different from your own unless you know that you've changed your mind on your own.”

She was so knowledgable, helpful, and patient and really gave her honest opinion. “You can stop searching for where to find your wedding dress, because this is the place to go! I had searched all over Maryland for the perfect bridal boutique, and came across Miss Bride To Be. I drove an hour and fifteen minutes away from my home specifically for this boutique, due to the wide selection of styles I was looking for, and the other excellent reviews.I cannot speak highly enough about this entire business. I was warmly greeted by the owner Alexis, who was to be my stylist. She was very professional, personable, honest, caring, motherly (I was alone for my appointment), and she really listened to what I was looking for. The entire appointment was very fun and memorable thanks to Alexis. We had the entire boutique to ourselves, with no distractions or interruptions. Alexis really makes sure to have her complete attention on your wants/needs, without being pushy. Comparatively at other boutiques I was being attended to by a stylist who also had three other brides at the same time, and was very pushy to get a sale from me. My only regret is not having had my dress tailoring/alterations done here as well.”

“I've known I wanted to shop for a dress at Anthropologie for over a decade, ever since I walked into one as a teenager and fell in love with the dresses hanging up around the space. Sarah was our bridal stylist and she was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and attentive, she really made me feel special and made sure to check in with me and figure out exactly what I liked and didn't. We tried in seven dresses total, and I ended up trying two again, all within the hour-long session. I honestly had no expectations coming in, I thought I'd try a few on and then come back for a second appointment. But I'm so excited to say I found the perfect dress for my elopement. The one I chose ended up around $1300, which was a great price for how gorgeous and well made the dress is. We bought before we left and it was back ordered, so I should get it in a few weeks! Thank you to Sarah and the entire Anthropologie team, it was such a fun, easy experience and all of the dresses are so gorgeous.”

“When my brother got married a decade ago, I bought my Chinese gown from Mei's Bridal & Alteration in Kentlands. Prior to stopping by the bridal boutique, I called to schedule an appointment. This store carries prom dresses, wedding dresses, Chinese gowns, and hair accessories. They have a $300 wedding gown sample sale and $50 prom dresses. When I arrived, Mei allowed me to browse the selection. She was friendly and helpful in recommending Chinese gowns that would fit my body type. I was happy to find a Chinese gown for my rehearsal dinner in June! I plan to return in a couple of months for alterations.”

“The name for this place is dead-on. I was running errands and looking for a place to get a button sewed onto a beloved coat. I pulled in and saw fancy wedding gown in the window and the sign on the door that said, "By appointment only" with a phone number. So I called. The woman who runs the place picked up immediately and came to the door. She was clearly busy but let me in and immediately. She is a woman of few words. All action, though. She tended to me and sewed the button on by hand, just standing there and refused to take any money from me. This is the kind of business any town should be proud to have and support.”

“My daughter's prom is approaching and we purchased a beautiful mermaid-styled dress at a bridal shop where it would be altered. They cut the train off and my daughter and I were heartbroken. They reattached it but the seam was highly visible and the nylon tulle underneath was not reattached. Alvin is an angel. He worked a miracle on earth and, now, my daughter is over the moon! When she graduates college, I'm ordering a custom-made dress for her from him. His skills are impeccable. I wish we had ordered one made for prom but I have learned my lesson. I am going to the best from the start and the best is Alvin! Thank you for saving my child's prom!!!!”
