This was ok. Found myself unexpectedly in Lynchburg meeting a friend so we agreed to try High's. The service was good, food just ok. I wouldn't necessarily go back as it wasn't memorable.

So far so good! I've been to the new High's a couple times and I'm really enjoying the new edition so far. I have the app which keeps track of the rewards and offers they send and I like the option of being able to order hot food to pick up from the app as well. I've tried some of their breakfast options and ice cream and all were delicious! The store is a nice size and well kept which I like to see, especially for stores that offer MTO food. I will definitely continue to visit!

This store has only been open for a few months. My husband and I came to get some chicken for dinner around 5pm on a Tuesday. You place your order at one of 4 kiosk stations. The ordering is pretty effortless. You get your receipt and take it to the register and pay. I found it interesting that during the dinner hour it was very little chicken ready. The staff who is relatively new appeared confused about what they were supposed to be doing and how the kitchen area should be run. The one young lady who appeared to be the cook walked from the kitchen to the front several times with her finger in the air as if the answer to a mathematical problem was in the air. Well, the math problem she needed to be solving was how many pieces of chicken do I need to prepare for the dinner rush. Any hoo, I ordered a 3 piece wing meal and a drumstick. My husband ordered the 3 piece white meat which is a breast and 2 wings. They told me I would have to wait 13 minutes while they cooked it. I agreed to wait. When I saw the cook bring the 3 pieces to the front I noticed the manager appeared to be preparing to give my wings to another customer. When I inquired she told the me the other lady had a big order and it was only fair to do hers first. I told her I believed I ordered first and the other customer agreed that I did indeed order before her. So she begins to take chicken out of the box she was preparing for the other customers 12 piece to fulfill my order. I thought it extremely odd that the cook only cooked 3 wings and didn't drop anymore chicken This made the wait even longer for the other customer. They need a more efficient way to prepare food and have it ready for the customers. I also ordered vanilla ice. They only had enough for 1 scoop and I ordered 2. The morning manager Vic was still there and was kind enough to get the last little bit of vanilla to make a scoop because the cook checked and they were out of vanilla You would think that their computer system would not have allowed me to order because they didn't have the inventory. They need to fix that flaw. Also, I found it interesting that everyone that was serving chicken or dealing with food had on gloves except Diane, the manager who was boxing chicken I think she should lead by example and practice good sanitation. That was unacceptable! The only person that worked in the kitchen that actually had an excuse for not knowing all of the functions of the kitchen was Erielle because it was her first day. To her credit she was very observant and trying to pick up on what her job entailed. She has a great attitude and will probably go far with her work ethic. Now, once we finally got home to have our chicken I was pleased with my chicken wings and potato wedges. My husband on the other hand had a chicken breast that was undone and he ended up trashing it. It was raining and cold and we just didn't feel like going back so we had to eat the loss ( excuse the pun). Would I go back to this High's? Yes. I will give them another chance and hopefully they will work out the kinks. SN: there were a few little ants around the checkout area. Fix that problem before it gets out please and thank you.

Well I'd definitely like to be the 1st to complete a review for this place! If it's about damn time was a convenience store/gas station then this is it! I've never met a High's that I didn't like! I remember when I could still eat dairy, getting up going to High's just to get their chocolate chip ice cream which is so freaking good! Currently they have buy one cone get 1 free. I highly suggest you take a visit. When I saw they were building this High's directly across the street from a competitor, I thought to myself "what are they doing?" But to be honest, the 2 are not the same. They have the same things but they are not the same. The ice cream alone sets this place apart from any other place. This place is spanking brand new, has a nice open floor plan, a hot food deli and different types of beverages. They have fancy juices, soft drinks, coffee, slushes, hot tea, you name it! They even have a section for you to devour all the food and beverages that they sell! Of course they have the regular stuff with the chips, cookies, candies and all that stuff as well. It's a gas station/ food place, and they have a car wash! The staff here are unbelievably awesome. The staff here actually give you a feeling of family. The way they acknowledge you and speak while you're in the store is amazing. It was a young African American guy that assisted me at the register, sadly I didn't catch his name and it's not on my receipt but he was so kind. He told me all about their rewards program and what I need to do to get started and proceed with using it. I am definitely not a app fan as I like to use my storage for media, but I'm thinking about it seriously! I am definitely going to encourage my husband to join app program as he loves apps as well as my boys. There are so many perks to the app program. $.10 off of each gallon of gas currently, and other types of other deals they have advertised in the windows that you can probably view in the app as well. Yup, I'll be back... again and again.
