I never write reviews, but this deserves one. Let's say that my family, including myself, have had accounts with Suntrust / Truist for about 30 years.
My mother has gotten been led to keep savings in a money market account that pays crumbs, about 0.5% (even when Treasury bonds are at 5%). A loss of thousands for her. Lots of profit for Truist, using that money for decades.
Do you want to open a CD? First they give you second best rate. If you want to fix this (their fault), they tell you it's too late: pay the fine for early withdrawal or wait until maturation.
WORSE: READ CAREFULLY (I rarely write in caps): CDS RENEW AUTOMATICALLY AT 0.1%.
That's right. If you're not there ON THE VERY DAY OF YOUR CD EXPIRING, they will NOT put the money in your other accounts. Instead, they will RENEW AT 0.1%. You will have to WAIT UNTIL MATURATION in order to retrieve your money. They don't even renew it at the former rate!!! No matter how long you've been a customer, how much of your money they got to use over decades to profit.
Did you have a CD for one year at 4%? Great! Now you're STUCK WITH A CD FOR ANOTHER YEAR AT 0.1%. Enjoy inflation.
If you'd like full NATIONAL coverage, say you travel to California (exotic!) you will NOT find a branch or an ATM there. That's right. Truist offers you branches and ATMs at...
15 States!
Would you like international coverage? Join Truist, with branches in zero countries outside the United States.
Phone service? Only on weekdays and limited schedule Saturday, your branch preferably. Otherwise, good luck getting a human.
Card replacement? Difficult. You shouldn't have lost it!
Would you like some mediocre 20th-century banking? Truist!
NOTE: Specifically at Cabin John, Mejtab is smart and understanding. She provides great service. She's probably too good to work for Truist. The problems are institutional.

Today had another bad experience in drive through. Last time the gentlemen’s lost one of my checks and said it was my issue then found it. Another time I was given inaccurate information regarding my business service. My son was treated rudely and they input his address wrong so his new card was never received. I have just moved here and my old branch was not like this. The location in Potomac at Tuckerman lane needs management help.

I enjoy walking in the bank and seeing the smiling faces of the tellers who I have gotten to know and who recognize me. The female executives at the bank are great!

Worst banking experience ever. I was unjustly charged $80 in ‘service fees’ in 4 months. I went into this branch to ask the branch manager about it. She told me it was for ‘only’ keeping $7K in my account. She chose to lose a 20+ year customer rather than reimburse the unauthorized fees. This bank is stealing customers’ money. Iimmediately closed my account.

Highly recommend the very professional TruisT Bank manager Metjab Belegu at Tuckerman lane in Bethesda, MD. She has been exceptionally helpful establishing an Estate account. Guided us through the whole process, including applying for an EIN. Took her time to explain all that was needed. I highly recommend that TruisT branch with the outstanding manager Metjab Belegu !

I’ve been a business account customer of “Suntrust now Truist” for a few decades. Compared with other branches in Montgomery County, Cabin John is the worst. Do not expect any personal attention or consideration. Unfortunately the personnel at the national general office number only respond by calling the branch manager and recommending a snail mail letter to the CEO of Truist. With all the banks in MC there’s no need to put up with the nonsense offered by Truist Cabin John.

Black people please avoid this racist branch. The manager Mejtab has no idea how to run her branch and profiles you if you are of a certain skin tone. I'm not sure if the location gave her belief that she was somehow to anyone all I see is another uncalled foreign running a business in America it's really ridiculous

I simply love this particular bank, Tuckerman lane branch. I hope this makes its way to Mehdah Belegu- the bank manager. This bank literally has the kindest cashiers, always friendly and extremely helpful. Herold is a precious human being, he’s on top of everything and is so kind. Always a smile and everyone I send to this bank, calls me and actually Thanks me for telling them how “A” Treatment they will receive. Thank you guys for being real sweethearts, especially at this difficult time. ??

Went to this branch twice and experienced the worst customer service by 2 of their employees one named lajuan but this most recent one is the last straw. I went there on 3/27/18 and was waiting to speak with a manager in regards to my account my card had been fraudulenty charged more than 2k on a card that Suntrust fraud department told me to destroy and that they supposedly blocked from making purchases. I told the teller the reason for my visit she told me to have a seat while she got the manager. While waiting Lajuan approached me and asked why I was there. I explained to him that I needed to get my money that was deposited into that account over the weekend out he proceeded to tell me that their was nothin the manager could do for me and I was basically wasting my time and that they were closed so I actually needed to leave. So I then asked if I could please just speak with the manager since I waited and was not informed she was on a call, he then reminded me that It was 5:00pm they were closed and I needed to come back tomorrow. he completely disregarded the fact that the previous rep told me to sit and wait which I did but no one ever told me that the manager didn’t even have 5 mins to spare with me after waiting 15-20 mins to speak with her/him. I asked for the corporate office number or email to which he replied that I should just google it!! I mean Suntrust completely screwed up my account and no one even took a second to think of the customer they messed up in the middle of this. Your employees should really go through customer service training. I’ve since closed my accounts and am now with navy federal. Suntrust you have lost a customer forever and I will tell everyone I know stay away from Suntrust!!!!
