Somerset Regional Animal Hospital
11279 Stewart Neck Road, Princess AnneI've been using Somerset for a while now for routine services. Recently, one of my dogs was ill. I recognized the urgency in her symptoms and took her straight to a 24 hour facility since it was a Friday afternoon. I was hit with a 4-8K estimate or euthanasia. At this point, my dog was still stable, eating and drinking with decent energy and no fever. I was an ER tech for several years. I knew what to expect. I opted to take her home which the vet wasn't too happy with. She remained stable through the weekend and I called Somerset on Monday for a second opinion. I had an appointment for Thursday but Dr. Reed called me on Tuesday and I explained what had been going on. He got me in for an appointment that afternoon. After some more diagnostics, we scheduled her for surgery the next day at a fraction of the cost of the 24 hour facility. My dog was able to stay home until surgery day and come home with me that night to recover. That is gold standard care in my book. Thankful to still have this as a locally owned veterinary practice in the area. Just wish they still saw livestock!
