European Delight is a hidden gem and a favorite store for Eastern European and Slavic foods in the DMV, offering a diverse array of products. It is an unassuming place with a delightful interior, specializing in the cuisine of the region and the former Soviet Union. The store boasts an incredible assortment of delicious and fresh goods, including a vast selection of imported pickled vegetables in jars, with a whole aisle dedicated to many options. It features an impressive array of meats smoked in-house, delicious meats and fish delicacies, and a large selection of tinned fish. Shoppers can also find a section of prepared food, mostly savory pastries, quality cheeses like Suluguni, cottage cheese from Lithuania, and sweets from different countries. There is a nice selection of regional beer and some nostalgic wines, including Bulgarian, Hungarian, and Armenian varieties. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable, providing top-notch and quality service. While shoppers are advised to watch expiration dates, prices are reasonable. With its many shelves and treasures a-plenty, every visit offers something new worth bringing home.
One of the best Eastern European grocery stores in U.S. for me so far. I've been in many different states and this one is by far was the cleanest with great product variety, posted expiration dates and responsive and attentive customer service.
