“I ordered online on the night of Dec 25; they shipped morning Dec 26. Packaging was excellent! Got it Dec 30, right thru the holidays. Faster than Amazon AND found something that Amazon was selling way more expensive (juice from Europe). I am happy to have found this little known store. Will buy again.”

“Staff is super helpful, shelves are always well stocked. Store footprint is large enough that this TJs has all of the basics (produce, paper products, etc) every day and usually has all of the seasonal items any given month.

Parking lot is busy unless you're there in the middle of the day in the middle of the week or very early on a weekend. Just be prepared to park several rows over and walk.”

“The jumbo shrimp $8.99/lb deal is such a treat! And the shell-on is great, because you can make a court bullion shell stock and poach them in it, like I did. A dab of spicy cocktail sauce ?Delicious. The Jailbreak IPA deal made it perfect”

“I don't know about "healthy", but this place has some GREAT freezer meat alternatives!! Stuff we have never seen in a grocery store and at decent prices. It seemed like most of it was Taiwanese imports.”

“Here’s a polished version:

Great store. The fruit is always fresh and somehow tastes sweeter and better than at other places.

I especially like the juice, meat and sausage selection, and dairy products here. I’m also a big fan of their organic pomegranate juice, it tastes fresh and very natural, with no added sugar.

I recently discovered that the market also has a kebab house where they cook food fresh on the spot. The food is delicious, with plenty of options to choose from.

Highly recommended!”

“So, right off the bat, this isn't a grocery store for everybody. It's mostly designed for Burmese folks with Burmese goods and foods. If you aren't familiar already, you probably won't know what you're looking at, LOL You can be adventurous and find out though. I recommend spicy potato chips and fried dried beef available in to-go containers out front. The rest, find out at your own risk.

There usually is a Saturday breakfast and lunch being served here if you want to try local Burmese cuisine and some free milk tea. Saturday evenings, there's a bigger food hall open in the adjacent basement area serving more Burmese food - rice and curries, monthingar noodles, coconut noodles, desserts, tea, etc. You pay using Zelle to the merchants. The food will take you quite close to Myanmar if you want to give that a go. Questions, just ask anyone in there, and you should be good.”

“We have visited Bismillah 355 several times since they opened the store a few years ago. They have a wide variety of products, like fresh halal meat, Asian fish, and Indian, Srilankan, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Middle Eastern grocery items. This is one of a few stores we like and trust for authentic international food.”

“This pharmacy is staffed by very friendly and very knowledgeable staff. They are also very efficient. A big shoutout to the staff on 1/7/25 at near closing time. My son had an infection and the urgent care doctor sent over some prescriptions less than half an hour before closing. I called the pharmacy and they said everything would be ready within minutes. And it was. Another time, due to a storm, something couldn’t be filled right away and Vicki personally called a bunch of pharmacies and made sure I got what I needed in time.
Whether it’s Vicki, Kallie, or anyone else there, you get great service. Thanks!”

“My go-to for a while now, and I have a low tolerance for BS. It’s honest enough & cheap.

Update: Deducting a star for power-tripping female clerk 10/18/24 4:27PM. Hope I won’t have to take my business elsewhere.”

“When my daughter learned about a sushiburger on TikTok, I was sent to the store to get the ingredients - I was totally lost. Ria walked me through the store to make sure I found everything -- both demanded by my daughter and not -- to make excellent sushiburgers. Thank you Whole Foods and thank you Ria!”

“You wouldn't think it would be hard to find chicken thighs with the skin on? Well, guess what? I spent an hour calling around to various Giants looking for my chicken thighs. It turns out more people want the skin removed. : ( Enter, my hero, Steve, the meat manager at this Giant. Who found my chicken thighs and put them in the back for me. All while he was there all alone in the meat section. This Giant is well stocked, has a great Gluten free section and Hispanic food section. The people who work there are very nice and accommodating. The store is well stocked. It is clean and is well managed. Located across the street from the Rockville Post Office, you can get two errands done at one time. Score! Thanks, Steve, my puppy and I thank you. Thanks Giant for the excellent service.”

“Aldi feels the most comfortable and inclusive for me. The staff are straightforward and respectful, and fellow customers just shop without judgment — it’s a simple, calm environment where everyone feels like they belong.

Trader Joe’s is generally friendly and positive, but I’ve occasionally noticed subtle micro‑exclusion or distancing expressions from a few staff or customers. Nothing major, just small moments that make the atmosphere feel a bit less neutral.

Wegmans has been the least comfortable in my experience, with both staff interactions and customer behavior sometimes feeling less welcoming.

Overall, Aldi gives me the most inclusive and easy shopping experience, while Trader Joe’s is good with occasional social discomfort, and Wegmans has room to improve.”

“I'm a big fan of the Bauer Drive Safeway. Compared to nearby competitors, it has a more upscale feel. While slightly pricier, it offers a wider selection of products, including a good range of both off-the-shelf and deli gourmet items. The staff is always friendly, and I rarely encounter long checkout lines.”
