“Finally got into the Inkwell for the first time today, when I was in town for family stuff. Last order I made from Bertram’s was probably 15 years ago when I was in university. They had a good selection for a small storefront and they were reasonably busy but Bert and the staff really impressed me.
I came in with my wife, a stationary fanatic, and my 3 year old, an adorable, chaotic, disobedient, button-pusher and nobody batted an eye. Bert answered my questions about refill types and recalled some of the stock he had, that I asked about, off the top of his head. MOREOVER, when I got home and looked up the pens I’d bought based on either: his recommendations, what looked shiny, or what was pink (wife and a daughter with me) I think every pen he sold me was less than I could even get them for on Amazon!!!
It was nice to put a face and a location to a store I’d used and an interest I dabbled in years ago before life got busy. It was astonishing that I didn’t get “punished” financially for buying from an independent merchant with experience and a physical location…. I’m gonna have to process this experience. ?”
“John Patch, Chris and the team were very helpful when they switched us out. Our network was acting crazy and they sent a tech out the next day who got us all fixed up.”
“The space in the showroom is small and there are a lot of chairs. They are mostly second-hand. There are also a small number of brand-new ones. You can try sitting on them at will. There are many high-end brands and the prices are very favorable. They are about 30% off the market price. It will be cheaper to pay in full cash. . The reception staff were nice, patient and friendly.”
