“I recently returned to Maryland after a decade away, and one of the first places I re-visited was the Sandy Spring Museum. I remembered it fondly as having lovely grounds and a small collection of interesting historical exhibits. Well, it still has beautiful grounds and some historical exhibits, but now most of its space is devoted to the work of local artists. It currently hosts colorful yarn sculptures that appear almost organic. Their beauty is enhanced by the diverse shapes and colors the artist chose for each grouping. It’s a display that can be enjoyed by people of any age, and it’s small enough that children won’t get bored. The museum is free to visit, so anyone can enjoy what it has to offer. Highly recommended!”

“This place has improved over the years. Looks like they are redoing some green surrounds and bunkers soon too. I heard rumors they are redoing their fairways next year as well. Affordable memberships considering the area. I have friends who have been members for years and still enjoy it. The golf course is really solid. They have a great mixture of holes. A couple of drivable par 4s and all the par 5s are reachable from certain tees. Two tough par 3s on the back that can make or break a round. Green surrounds are tough if you're in the wrong spot. The greens themselves are always in fantastic shape. They are severely sloped at times, so you must be accurate with your approach shots. I couldn't find the golf course architect on their website, but they did a good job considering the hilly topography and small footprint of the property. But I can also see one hitting pretty much the exact same shots every time no matter what tee box you're playing. Favorite hole: Par 5 12th, except for the yellow range balls that litter the left side. Downhill the entire way. Range on the left, trees and then the 18th hole on the right. Reachable for many with usually a blind-ish to a peninsula green with water right and long. The very tall red stake frames the front right of the green. Very cool hole before the brutally tough par 3 13th. The driving range is good and they have really nice Titleist practice balls to hit. The short game area is outstanding. I could spend hours out there with a few wedges. They have two small-ish putting greens on either side of the clubhouse. The restaurant is a great space and they have an area for bigger events. The food and service are both good too. Sadly, I have not enjoyed the pool area. Just a solid club overall. The members I have interacted with have all been great. I have had and heard somewhat mixed interactions with the people that run the place, but nothing bad enough to write about here.”

“I went on a Friday night and also on a Sunday night. There was an instructor who gave us a Fox Trot lesson, which was for beginners. I learned alot. There are people who will dance with beginners and give you practice. The refreshments were very good, too.”

“This place is awesome. Read the directions carefully for how to find it. It's an easy drive but finding the entrance is not easy right now, due to construction. I came for the Friday night West Coast Swing lessons and it was so much fun. It was a huge group of people, but it's a huge space. The instructors were fantastic. They have a good system too--beginner lesson at 7:30. Intermediate lesson at 8:15. What's nice is that at that time, beginners move into a different space for a practice session with the instructors. At 9 pm the social dancing starts. There are tables in the back and food/drink. The people who come here are really friendly. I will definitely be back, even though it's a 40 minute drive for me.”

“I came here to the Crown Plaza on March 15, 2026. The rooms are beautiful and comfy. The staff here is really friendly and professional. The only flip side when making a third party reservation is, you have to put a $100.00 deposit for incident everytime. Other than that, Makayla at the front desk is very pleasant and professional and I also met the General Manager Mike, who I spoke with about the $100.00 deposit rule and he was very pleasant as well. My overall, my stay is great and they have a restaurant and bar downstairs which is convenient. The housekeeper is awesome as well. I wish I had her name. Let mentiin the bed. The bed is very comfortable and relaxing. I haven't slept this good in a long time. I am having heat issues and my room is always cold. Crown Plaza location is secluded but is by a bus stop within walking distance. I really love here. Erica McClam”
