Budget rental vacated long ago- it’s a scam. Then *YOU* will get hit with a $75 no show fee for renting a truck at a location that doesn’t exist

The place was listed as an after hours compatible location and there was no where to put the keys and customer service told us there’s nothing they can do. The breaks barely worked in the truck, the ball bearings were bad, the entire truck smelled like sour milk, steering was wobbly. They also charged us extra for and underage driver when the driver is in their 40’s. It was an absolutely horrible experience. Yes it is cheap but not worth the price. Spend the extra money on a uhaul.

Rented here once before and had no problems. Came back and apparently new rules have been added . So if you don’t have $400 on top of the rental fee or if you use Chime Bank … please head somewhere else ….

Prior to checking my credit card statement, this place was going to receive 4 stars. I'll start with the good, the attendants were very friendly. Now, the struggle:I had a one-way truck rental, and this location was my drop off location. While my pick up and drop off time was 9:05 am, this location doesn't open until 10 am on weekends. I'm not sure why Budget lets you complete an online reservation to drop off a rental when the receiving location is closed. While doing the paperwork work after turning in my rental, the woman made it seem like my rental was cheaper than what it was supposed to be. I believe she said something like we are removing the deposit. I'll admit that I did not do my due diligence and ask any follow up questions. I was so over a very stressful more and was more than happy to return the truck. A few days later, my credit statement had TWO charges on it - one for my original rental around $300 and another for around $200. I immediately called customer service and was told that I was charged $200 because I returned the truck a day late. The woman at the counter NEVER mentioned this. Over the phone, I asked the agent how could I have returned the truck late when the location wasn't open. The agent put me on hold for about 45 minutes and returned with good news. He told me that I was lucky because this Budget location agreed to remove the charge from my card. I am glad the that returning location removed the extra charge. However, I'm still kind of confused on why Budget lets you rent something and schedule a drop off when the location is closed. I could understand the charge if I tried to return the truck 6+ hours after the location opened. However, I returned it literally minutes after the business opened (although the system logged it as returning it an hour late). This is a case where I think we as a society are relying way too much on technology and not using common sense. If the attendant had looked at the drop off time, they would have seen the drop off time scheduled was before the business was open and should have waived the extra charge. Then again, part of this on me because I should not have trusted the attendant and should have asked more questions.

Do NOT rent from this location! They charged me the agreed upon amount for a one week rental, then the next day changed the charge to add on a $450 cleaning charge!! I had cleaned all the trash out before returning it. All it needed was a regular vacuuming after a week long rental which is standard practice. I travel for work and have NEVER been charged a cleaning fee for renting a car. This seems like I was scammed by a sketchy franchise that didn't hire enough employees to do the normal car maintenance work.

Rented a truck for one day, came to drop it off the next day (since that’s what the employee told me to do) but the office was closed. According to their hours posted on the door they should have been open. Had to come back again the next day to return and was given no reimbursement despite having to make several trips.

The staff inside were very nice but unfortunately I can't give this company a good review. We needed a truck to move out of our apartment and had it reserved a month in advance, and I even called multiple times to confirm a truck would be available. They assured me it would. Well, while trying to move out on the last day of my lease no truck was available. We waited for hours, called everyone we could, and budget was not able to secure us a truck. We ended up getting a uhaul truck the same day! Uhaul may be more expensive but at least they are reliable.Budget called about 5 hours after we got our uhaul and said they had finally found a truck (2 hours away from my location). Obviously too little too late and I could not have gone 2 hours to get a truck since I didn't have a car anyway.I would use uhaul instead

My last rental in Orlando was a very horrible experience, with no fast break I had to wait 1HR30 in line to get my vehicle. If you have a long line reps shouldn't be taking a break or entertaining long unnecessary conversations. What better way to deal with this pandemic then fast break, no contact with anyone except when you leave the lot in the vehicle. Bad move Budget!

While the staff is kind and courteous, they don't take proper care of their cars. I'd advise avoiding this rental location. My partner and I booked a one-way rental for an 11-hour roadtrip. Once we got in the car (a 2020 Hyundai Elantra) and drove off, we noticed that it smelled strongly of cigarettes. Then we noticed there were burn holes in the upholstery. There was ash and change in the glove compartment and cupholders. In the middle of the pandemic, the car clearly had not been cleaned. Since we were short on time, we cleaned it ourselves then got on the highway. Less than an hour into our trip, it became obvious that the car also had not been well maintained. It pulled to the right, and required very careful steering; it accelerated very poorly, which was difficult for highway driving. It was out of wind shield washer fluid. And, by the evening, we found that the headlights were very weak. Avoid this location, and consider avoiding Avis/Budget all together.

This rental location gave me a dangerous vehicle. On New Hampshire and Randolph road the moving truck seemed ok but once I got onto the highway at higher speeds the truck was fishtailing and couldn't stay in its lane. Thank god I didn't pack the truck heavy otherwise we may have lost control. I had to death grip the steering wheel all the way up 270 at 40 miles per hour. I contacted budget and they said to call roadside which is a total joke. I called roadside at 3pm they called me back at 4pm then the mechanic got there at 5:30pm so my moving day was ruined because I had to sit with this dangerous truck until someone came out. THEN..... the mechanic said the alignment was all messed up and that there was a wheel bearing on the front passenger side that was loose. To my relief the mechanic said they will tow it because it's not safe. So the next morning the budget truck is still outside and has not been towed. I called to ask why at 5am and the roadside person tells me that they closed the ticket saying nothing is wrong with the truck and that the tech just rotated the tires.... UHM WHAT?!?!? this man didn't even take the tires off the vehicle..... do they think I'm slow? Wtf! So I have to wait until 8am to find out wtf is happening here. The roadside guy had the nerve to tell me that I need to take the truck back to the place I rented it from.... like 44 miles back down the road. They clearly do not care about my life or those around who could be injured by this unsafe truck. What a disappointment!!! Then the girl from customer service caught an attitude with me when I'm dealing with this nightmare. DO NOT RENT A BIG MOVING TRUCK FROM BUDGET!!!!!!!!!!

I am pleased to report that my experience with Budget does not reflect the reviews from a few years back. Indeed, my experience is quite the opposite: great customer service, competitive rates, and a fine selection of vehicles. This review is being posted with confidence based on several rental experiences, rather than a single event that could or could not reflect normal operations. For a variety of reasons, we've had to utilize rental cars on several occasions over the past two years, and each time the staff at this Budget location has accommodated us in a friendly and efficient manner. No problems and no hassles builds loyalty, and I will definitely use their services again.

I'd give them zero starts but it wasn't an option. I reserved a truck online on Wednesday for my Saturday move. Friday I get a message from them that they don't have the truck I reserved and I need to call Budget customer service to find an alternative. I call and the guy says he'll have to have the inventory manager call me back to find another one for me, but "how far am I willing to drive to pick up the truck?" I said I don't know but if it's too far I'll just call another
