Terrible service the last two times that I’ve been there today I was trying to pick up a car that I reserved online an the lady she didn’t want it to take the same bank card that I always used I always used hertz till today.

I would have rated this location a Zero star if the option was available. The customer service agent (Jorge) is rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. The branch manager was also unhelpful. I’m trying to reach the area manager and the better business bureau for this location.

Fast and easy check-in process! The lady at the front desk was very polite and helpful. I originally booked an electric vehicle but was unavailable once I got there. They accommodated me to a 2025 Kia and I had a great experience with the rental.

They don’t accommodate tourists. If you are a tourist and looking to rent a car in the DMV, please stay away from this place. I booked a rental through a third party for my dad who was visiting me in the States. We went back and forth for 3 consecutive days and still didn’t get the car. Thank God the third party gave me a refund on my insurance plan. Please work on accommodating tourists more!

The team at Hertz Car Rental-Silver Spring-Georgia Avenue are fantastic! They always acknowledge my Gold Member status and they are always professional and personable. The cars are of high quality with a host of options available. Great service, great staff!

took over an hour to pick up a reservation. the attendant spent most of the time trying to appease some fake influencers with different car models when their were 7 clients waiting. inefficient and terrible service.

This review is based on my two experiences with this company.
My first experience was not great at all. I booked a car through a third-party website, and when I went to pick it up, my reservation didn’t exist—there was no car for my family, even though I had booked it three days in advance. They ended up giving me the only vehicle available at that time: a huge pickup truck. So, the takeaway is: if you book through a third-party site, I highly recommend calling Hertz directly to confirm they received your reservation. For some reason, these sites are not always fully synchronized. Or, even better, book directly through Hertz’s website.
My second experience was completely different. This time, I booked directly on Hertz’s website, and everything went much smoother. The only issue was that the first car they gave me had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, but they immediately replaced it with another one.
Why do I keep coming back to this location?
1. It’s close to my home.
2. The prices are very reasonable compared to other rental companies.
3. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The worst customer service I have experienced with a car rental company. I call to ask if they have any cars available at the Silver Spring Maryland location..she asks for the zip code and I provide what they have on line. she than says are you sure it’s not Rhode Island or Massachusetts. I know what state I am asking for. She then proceeds to say she will put me on a hold only to direct me to their main page where I have to select what option I want. I final get through to someone at the local and they pick the phone up and just hang up. Unbelievable!!! Waste of time! Go to another car rental company!!

My experience at Hertz Rental on Georgia Ave.in Silver Spring Md. was quick and efficient. My team member was knowledgeable and friendly. The process was smooth and quick. This location was also very convenient for us. Thank you team member. Most importantly my rental car was great!

The person at the counter told me to return the electric vehicle without charging it since I was renting it for a couple of hours and they had a charger at the rental. After returning the car, I got a fuel surcharge of $35 and I couldn't reach to them to ask what happened.

This location never has the vehicle class in stock that you actually reserve online. I reserved a mid-sized SUV similar to a Jeep Compass, and upon arrival was told they only had a RAM 2500 pickup truck available as the ONLY option, not even a regular sedan. I’m 4’11, going on a family road trip with my kids, why would this be the only option? It wasn’t even close to being able to suit my needs, much less drive it.
I grow increasingly frustrated with this branch and they used to be good when James worked there and they rented Tesla’s. Now, it doesn’t matter what you book, or the reason you book it for, you’re stuck at the mercy of their shitty inventory.
They shouldn’t allow people to book things online, that they do not have the inventory for. It should be best practice that they review reservations a day prior to ensure they have all the inventory they need for those customer vehicle types. This would give them enough time to get a vehicle from another location if need be, to elevate the customer experience, instead of saying “you could go somewhere else”. It poor service and lack of consideration of the customer journey.

Today I went to return my rental a Malibu. There were three employees available. I spoke with a Hispanic male. He asked where my car was being repaired, I told him. He then told me since this was an insurance claim (GEICO) that i could leave the rental at the repair facility and it would be picked up. I had planned to get an Uber.after dropping it off. The employee encourage me to leave it at the repair shop. So instead i decided to leave the rental at the repair shop which was a 30 -45 minute ride in rush hour traffic. The lady @ the repair shop decline to accept the HERTZ rental. She stated this rental company does not pick up their vehicles in a timely manner. Some times for months. GEICO Adjuster was notified and agreed to extend the vehicle for an additional day. The repair facility tried to notify Hertz, which claimed they would come in 30 minutes. However, the only space to leave the vehicle was on the street parking. Unfortunately, since the car was in my name, I took the option of additional day for rental.
This was a horrible situation with bad advise from a Hertz employee. Resulting with me spending over two hours going back and forth in rush hour traffic. Also time spent calling GEICO for assistance. Having to make two trips to Hertz is the pitts.
I am pretty sure I will NEVER USE Hertz again!
