My mom has lived at Acts Fairhaven for 6 years. In that time she has benefitted greatly from a variety of services the retirement community offers. Mom and I are especially grateful for the friendly, compassionate and dedicated care of the administrators and staff.

My parents moved into Fairhaven in March 2022. They were very excited to start a new chapter in their life, as they were moving into Independent living. They were moving to Fairhaven with the intention of engaging in the many activities that Fairhaven had to offer, and to cut down on the home responsibilities that were getting to be too much for my parents, especially my mom. They also knew that it was very likely that my dad would eventually need assisted living within a few years, and this was a way to assure that they would always be together. Three days before their move my mom was very unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. My mom had been my dad’s caretaker for years, and she was always so healthy, so their lives were literally turned upside down. My siblings and I were scrambling and panicking, as we were trying to figure out what our next move was. I called Fairhaven the next day and told them about our mom’s diagnosis, and they were immediately ready to help in anyway that they could. They set up home healthcare for our mom, which started two days after they moved in. They stayed in contact with me, and they assured me that they would be there to help us in any way. They held true to their word. Sadly, we lost our mom four months later. As mentioned earlier, our mom was our dad’s caretaker, and soon after they moved into Fairhaven our dad fractured his kneecap and was moved into skilled nursing temporarily, as our mom could not care for him, while she was going through cancer treatment. Long story short, our mom ended up on Hospice at Fairhaven, and they both had rooms side-by-side in their skilled nursing facility. The staff at Fairhaven quickly became a huge part of our family, as they took care of our parents. My dad’s health continued to decline, as his body became weaker, and his heart was shattered. The staff at Fairhaven loved him, and they did whatever possible to help him, both mentally and physically. Sadly, eight months later our dad lost his will to fight, and he passed away. Again, the support that we received was phenomenal. When I say the staff at Fairhaven supported us, I don’t just mean the nursing staff. The food service staff took great care of all of us, housekeeping, maintenance, transportation drivers, beauty salon, etc. My mom spent two months in Independent Living, and she never got to experience all of the activities that she had looked forward to. However, whenever she was asked how she liked Fairhaven, her response was, “I love it!” She truly did love it. She loved the people at Fairhaven, both the staff and the few residents who she met during the short time she was there. So, while this year was by far the most difficult year of life for myself and my siblings; I do strongly believe that Fairhaven did all they possibly could to not only help our parents, but they were also there for us every step of the way. The staff at Fairhaven who took care of our parents will always hold a special place in our hearts.

My father recently moved from independent living to assisted living, and the move couldn't have been easier. Staff moved some of his clothes and other necessary items, and family moved the rest over the next 3 weeks. Staff has been more than kind, accommodating and very friendly. No request has been turned down. We, and he, are very fortunate to have Fairhaven in our family.

We've been residents for just over one month and in our minds, it's "FairHeaven." Folks are so friendly asking us to join them for dinner, walking on the 300-acre campus (see photo) with new and friends we have met, and little things like many birthday cards from folks we've so recently met. Moving to Fairhaven was the right choice for us. A great location - beautiful property with over 300 acres that includes wooded walking trails, garden plots, ample covered parking and we still have quick access to all the retail locations in Eldersburg. After these past two years of pandemic changes in activities, the community is getting back to a more active status. Above all else this is a community of wonderful friends and neighbors.

This place used to be good. But has really gone down hill. My family member left after being there for a few years because prices have gone up and you are paying for less. He was easy to please and has been miserable- so we had to move him out. Very sad.

I am leaving a review on behalf of my good friend. She had her in laws move into the independent living within the last year and since her in-laws moved in, she has been at ease! The lady ( unable to remember her name) ,who helped her with the moving process, gave her fast responses and was such a breath of fresh air! She helped put my friend at ease every step of the way and she said you can tell she loves what she does. She checked in, not only on the her in laws but the family as well for move in. I stopped by to offer assistance and saw the patience and kindness she gave to my friend. It’s good to know there are still people who take pride in their job! There are several activities at the place, including fitness, which is always packed according to them. Food is pretty good with lots of options. Beautiful location as well.
